Iirc he's not that guy but he's capable of a good wrister and sending it back to Kuch which is fine. Chaffee can't do that. I can't recall Bjorkstrand having a hammer for a shot but I hope I'm wrong.

I am fine with giving up the first round picks, the second sure, hate losing Ace but so be it. If there is retention on both, then that still leaves a bit more for another pick up possibly?

Yeah, wish they still had Ace, but as you said, if there's retention on both, Tampa will still have 2.5ish maybe to work with.

From the very little that I’ve seen of him, Bjorkstrand is fairly feisty, which I appreciate. If he plays with Hagel and Cirelli, it’ll be a fun addition.

Obviously BriseBois only cares about the present and not the future and presently we are a much better team. Bjorkstrand is here next year so the top 6 will be intact. Really hoping they can resign Gourde to a 2 or 3 year deal for cheap to stick around and lesson the impact of trading 2 1sts.

Keeping Geekie and Howard, for now, will add even more depth for top 9 spots next year. Makes trading that 27 1st less risky as they should be coming into their own that season and keep us a top team in the Atlantic. Forward group is locked in for some time now we need to look for a defenseman who can eventually replace the big 2. With the rising cap wonder if we can make a play for Provorov or Chychrun this summer?

I like this trade for 2 reasons

1. No Howard, Duke, Huuhtanen, Gauthier or, Geekie. I’m fine giving up picks and keeping our top prospects

2. bolts add 2 top 9 forwards. Biggest weakness has been filled.

If Seattle did 50% on both Björkstrand and Yanni - we’d have between $580, 000 and $740,000 left in cap

It’s really tough imagining Ron Francis doing 50% on both of them - when he’s trying to hold 50% for moving Tanev as well

I mean, he might as well have put a garage sale sign out in front of Climatepledge if everyone outbound is at 50%
