5.4 million is pretty much what a third liner costs now. and this dude gonna be second line unless howard wows us.

olivier just signed a $3/milly year contract and he scores 10 a year

My problem is that 5.4 million for 20 goal scorer is not a steal
You know how everyone knows this is a more than fair trade for our situation?

Because you're moaning that it's not. Pretty logical barometer around here.

You blamed Cooper, team is winning and in a PO spot. JBB improves our team, you still bitch.

They really don't. If the team is improving, it's better to do it than not do it. We have a limited amount of time to capitalize on what could be the best core we ever see.
Don't want to get into a big back-and-forth, but not so sure about that lol

I mean over the span of the last half decade or so: Hedman, Kucherov, Point, Vasy, mainly. It's going to be very hard to get better than that in our lifetimes, even if once upon a time they were better. So we have to surround that group with as much as we can.

If Bjorkstrand puts up 25 playing on the second/third line, that is going to be awesome.
I’ll do one better and say that if he pots 25+ with half of those on the PP AND elevates Cirelli’s play… then hopefully all the bitching and moaning will stop what was given up.

Doubtful though - this is HF after all

He is awesome on the forecheck, from the red line out he’s absolutely responsible and, as I stated earlier, he’s got a decent wrister and excellent in tight.

I will say this, though… The key to his success is going to be Anthony and Bagel needing to let the play flow through him and not TO him all the time

He is absolutely gonna make that line better but 71 and 38 will need to be a touch more selfish

So is everyone happy with this move? That’s two middle 6 forwards, righty shot, etc. Is Gourde still the same? He’s 33 now
Gourde likely isn't the same, but there's a chance he's better under Coop than he has been in Seattle.

I think this is a very good deal. We are a lot better now, and one of the players shouldn't have any trouble with Coop's system. (Always a tdl concern)

Getting Yani back? And Bjorkstrand? Yes, please.

JBB paid 2 1sts for Hagel but he was RFA with a great contract not 5.5 million 30 years old
This is an overpayment in my opinion, plain and simple. Instead of haggling over cost JBB got the player he wanted instead of getting a less ideal fit. This is what he does and if Bjorkstrand plays amazing here it’s worth every bit.

This should push Hagel off PP1 right? That’s a plus, I am down with Gourde and Bjorkstrand on the third line, there are certainly some interesting line combos that should come out of this

Spot on. I watch a fair amount of the Krak and he got the nick “The Maestro” (in CBJ) for a reason. Guy is smart and can control the play when he has the puck on his stick. Great addition and if with 38 and 71, should be a SOLID two-way line,
