I had no idea we were associated with D Carle in any way
David Carles heart issue was found during NHL draft exams and he basically had his dreams dashed right there. He was friends with Oren's kid and they played at Shattuck iirc, but Oren & Co used the last pick they had in the draft to pick him to fulfill his dream of being drafted. Denver was expecting him to go there as a commit and play (George Gwozdecky was the coach at the time) and they honored his scholarship, as well as pushed him into the coaching staff as long as he was a student.

DC did a few years in Denver, took over the Green Bay Gamblers for a couple years, then came back to Denver under Jim Montgomery, and then took over as head coach. Kind of a crazy path, involved with Oren, becomes a bolt (kinda), goes to coach with Gwoz who later becomes a bolts coach, takes over Green Bay where Coop won a couple of USHL titles, and then goes back to Denver a few years until he takes the reins.

Completely forgot about that

He doesnt know, guys.

Its okay Mr. Baby. When you decide to mock Stammerclown University's lectures and act like you can gain a high level education elsewhere, this is what happens. The Clown Commission Board would like to inform you that David Carle, brother of Matt (yes, that one), had a heart condition and the Lightning organization drafted him in the 7th round. The story is on your Google machine if you so kindly wish to pursue furthering your knowledge.

Consider yourself clowned on.

*all honk noses in unison*

Good day.
Submitting for extra credit

Last Lightning pick (203rd) while Anders Lindback was still on the board (went 3 picks later to the Preds)

Hell yes he owes a solid. If we started the Lindback experiment earlier than we did, he wouldn’t have his ceremonial drafting take place

That is a fantastic story. I'm a little surprised he hasn't jumped onto our staff yet

That Drouin pick keeps paying dividends for us despite him being a flop. Thanks to Bergevin being an idiot.

Scout's Analysis: The top 32 prospects not yet in the NHL

Saw this link in the Larkin thread on the trade board. Don’t know how well respected the guy is, but it’s his top 32 nhl prospects yet to play in the nhl - posted in early April.

Clicked it curious to see if and where SOR was, but didn’t expect to see Pridham at 18th
For what it’s worth - Jason Bukala (and The Pro Hockey Group) has been my go-to for 5 years now. I value him and that group so much, that I have completely overlooked (and forgiven) the multiple years he spent in the Turds organization as their Dir. of Amateur Scouting.

Given my extremely well established hatred for that franchise, that saying something.

Your mileage may vary.
