Glass was a bit of a punching bad like Dorsett was. Not sure if he just got better in that department or if the league is just so watered down there that he is actually winning some battles. Definately a better hitter then Dorsett was IMO.

No harm, no foul here. Maybe a slight upgrade if anything.

Yeah it's an upgrade if you don't like having the puck.

I know it's dumb to even consider now, but...

If he winds up being waived, how does his salary affect the cap? Whole thing stay on for the duration of k?

A fighter :)

This is my kind of signing, he's pretty good at it too. But he's turning 31, and toughness seems fade away when they get older.

At least Glass is a much better fighter than Dorsett. Those two actually fought back in November last year, and he killed Dorsett who was left bloodied.

Becareful standing up for Glass, all the other "fans" cried and yelled when I stood up for him (glass). These are 4th line players we're talking about, not HoF players.

Last year we went to the Final rolling four lines that could all legitimately play. This year people are saying to chill out because Glass is only a fourth liner.

to be fair that 4th line had a revolving door on it as well.

I can't wait until Sather waves his magic wand to make another one of his mistakes go away again. The worst signing since Brashear. Just an awful hockey player.

I'm a Canucks-fan with a soft spot for NYR. So today I have seen my team spend 6m on Ryan Miller and NYR sign Glass for 3 years. I'm lost for words. I accept that there are many that understand hockey better than me, but this is just wrong. Wasn't exactly sad when Glass left Vancouver - even then when he was paid nothing. Such an odd move by NYR.

Sather probably was just aiming for someone who can hit, or atleast try to push the other players around. But you guys won't regret Miller, just let him have a full season to play;)

I would have signed a guy like Joe Vitale who can play wing or center and is a faceoff specialist. Would have taken Bernier or Carter before him.

Cap hit is very high. I don't care if he's a character player or not, even with me being in the pro-tuffness camp, Glass is not a good signing at that term and cap hit. He isn't a good in-whistle player.

With that said, he is a lot better at his role than that punching bag Dorsett. Glass is a better skater and hitter too.

Glass just isn't reliable as a player. I know nerd stats aren't the end all be all that some and the fans of the EDM Oilers are always harping about, but Glass's nerd stats are capital A Awful.

This guy sucks.

The Rangers always seem to make an odd move such as this almost every off season.

I'd take a guy who understands nerd stats over somebody who thinks Tanner Glass deserves 3 years at 1.5 mil. An indefensible signing with zero upside.

This is that bad. Rupp 2.0. And I appreciate tough hockey.

At 1.5...just ****ing keep Dorsett. Hell, reallocate this money to Boyle. Asinine. Will be traded for a 6th next summer if we're lucky.

At the very least they could've kept Carcillo for $900 K on a one year deal if he felt we needed a fighter.

Stupid signing, GLass is literally one of the worst players in the NHL

then again I trust AV to not play Glass if he continues to be terrrible

Just add to the list of awful 4th line players given more than 1 year to come here, Asham, Rissmiller, Voros, Brashear, Boogard, Rupp.

Carcillo doesn't fight anymore, but takes a ton of minor penalties, and an idiotic physical attack on a referee. I hope he's gone.
