At least it's the core carrying the team right now, in previous years half of what made it infuriating was that it was when the overpaid vet depth decided to play superhero for a dozen games and turn right back into a pumpkin next season.
Remember Chiasson ending the year playing like vintage Corey Perry for 5 games.

Looking very likely the Canucks will be sitting 9th from last by the end of the season. St. Louis, Montreal and Philadelphia are really turning on the tank while the Canucks have one of the easiest schedules. Could even finish 10th from last if Detroit really tanks it up.

Yeah, 9th or 10th last is looking like the most likely outcome

Easy schedule + Demko + Tocchet riding EP/Hughes like every game is game 7 of SCF = a lot of wins

With all that losing they are bound to win some more games. I think we finish 8th or 9th which isnt too bad as Reinbacher, Leonard, Moore, will be available with that pick

Great as expected of this team...sprinting to just barely miss the playoffs and screw over our pick.

As long as Demko is in goal, all tank talk is moot. Like MTL before Price's injury.... We kinda lucked out already early this season, when Demko suddenly lost his mojo, otherwise we won't even sniff a top 10 pick. Perpetual bubble existence is our fate.

winning 3 - 2 in overtime against the Ducks is preparing the team for next year?...getting extra points by pulling out a win in the last few minutes of these games is going to prepare them for next year?...as opposed to having a better chance at Bedard or a higher draft pick?...coach is a moron.

Couldn’t have said it better
Perpetual bubble existence

Like that is how they are describing Vancouver on the radio on the east coast from an outside perspective. They saw it forever with their teams

You just constantly sell the narrative “we’ll carry this over to next season” and you are in this continuous cycle of it’ll be better next year
Then you spend in free agency

Next thing you know it you’ve missed the playoffs 7 of the past 8 seasons and the 1 time you made it was by a pandemic technicality.

Once again the Canucks screw the fans hopes. Can you assholes try winning at the start of a season for a change. Or not trade draft picks to make us better when we don't have any real chance at the playoffs.
what a bunch of f***wits this organization is.

We are at some thing like $96M against the cap next year. Every one knows we will be desperate. We had a chance to have great draft year in a great draft year, now we are going to have to trade what little we have left to get out of cap hell. You f***ing morons.

They were talking about Vancouver on Toronto radio yesterday

“When you start talking about ‘building a culture for next year’. We went through that in Toronto for 15 years”

I mean it’s true, and it never happens
Just these worthless wins at the end of season
Sigh.

Yeah.

I’m excited to go see Bedard play next year wherever he ends up. I’m excited to head down to Seattle to see the Kraken in their awesome arena.

Nothing about this team is exciting for next year. It’s sad really
