It is absolutely a tangible difference. IF Benning wasn't so inept They should have been a playoff team in the years after. He really isn't a sheltered player. He is a 2 way guy. When playing with a competent partner he has shown very well.
I don't believe the was the rumors have been presented. Its clear the rumors are coming from the Pens side. I think Pits absolutely made a pitch for him, and this is far different then the Canucks shopping him. I think they would be open to moving him if the correct package came back. I think they took a look at if they could take any of those pieces and turn it into a young centre, like they took pieces of the Horvat trade and turned it into a defensemen. When they couldn't do this they said no... as they should for anything short of a really good package.
Who do I pair him with? I think if it isn't with Hughes we don't see his partner on the team right now.
Funny if i had to bet re the Penguins the Canucks were a lot more engaged/willing to listen then they would ever admit. JR and co. are always doing their part to spin their narratives I've noticed and it behooves them to say publicly how they would never want to move Miller - he's a big part of their future. Much better optics for what has shown to be a moody Miller.
At first I was pretty pissed but I've come around to getting on board - depending what happens this trade does theoretically have the ability to be a massive win. How long have we been trying to get a competent RHD? Somehow find one more top 4 stay at home D and we are in business.
If we are gonna be all in - which we are - let's not half ass shit..............We are a lot closer then many are giving us credit for.......this was the BIGGEST organizational need - and now it's at least somewhat filled. Kudos to management for doing so.........
RIP the tank indeedRIP the tank
