Sharks tank is something else. Lose every game in the last few minutes. Screw them

OMG they tied it with 10 seconds to go :amazed:

It is absolutely a tangible difference. IF Benning wasn't so inept They should have been a playoff team in the years after. He really isn't a sheltered player. He is a 2 way guy. When playing with a competent partner he has shown very well.

I don't believe the was the rumors have been presented. Its clear the rumors are coming from the Pens side. I think Pits absolutely made a pitch for him, and this is far different then the Canucks shopping him. I think they would be open to moving him if the correct package came back. I think they took a look at if they could take any of those pieces and turn it into a young centre, like they took pieces of the Horvat trade and turned it into a defensemen. When they couldn't do this they said no... as they should for anything short of a really good package.

Who do I pair him with? I think if it isn't with Hughes we don't see his partner on the team right now.

Funny if i had to bet re the Penguins the Canucks were a lot more engaged/willing to listen then they would ever admit. JR and co. are always doing their part to spin their narratives I've noticed and it behooves them to say publicly how they would never want to move Miller - he's a big part of their future. Much better optics for what has shown to be a moody Miller.

At first I was pretty pissed but I've come around to getting on board - depending what happens this trade does theoretically have the ability to be a massive win. How long have we been trying to get a competent RHD? Somehow find one more top 4 stay at home D and we are in business.

If we are gonna be all in - which we are - let's not half ass shit..............We are a lot closer then many are giving us credit for.......this was the BIGGEST organizational need - and now it's at least somewhat filled. Kudos to management for doing so.........

its playing the odds. The trade could be a massive win. its akin to winning the Bedard lottery. IF that happens, it papers over all the mistakes Aqualini made the team commit. Not trading for Hronek is ALWAYS the correct move, its the sensible move, but it doesnt mean there is no path to success for this team. Once again, they chose the less optimal, more risky path. I want to tank.... but as other posters suggested, since this is the direction, maybe if we end up with, say, the 4th pick, instead of Michkov, the best course of action would be to trade it for a massive quantity of depreciated assets. say, to the kings... for Turcotte/Byfield etc... or Jackets for Sillinger/Johnson etc... to speed up the retool. I would cry. but thats the way and logic they choose to go.

Every GM is going to spin when the do interviews. Some do it better.

However I am just straight talking about leaks on moves. Never mind that deadline interview. I don't believe it. I do think there were talks. I think it got deep into talks. I just don't think it was the way the media has portrayed it. I say this because in terms of the moves this team has done, very few have been leaked. Look no farther than the Hronek trade, the Horvat trade.

I agree with the last bit for sure. It is the criticism you can't deny. I think more time is needed with some things, but we should have moved money out last year. Things should have started at last years deadline.

Would’ve been nice to have that extra pick as bait to move up a few spots if we fall to 7th or 8th. What would it cost realistically?

Lock it up. This pick needs to be traded anyway unless they somehow luck into a top 3 pick.

5-2-1 last 8.

we are going to the playoffs!

should've traded our own pick last week when everyone thought that its a top 6 pick.

Wouldn’t shock me if they move the pick if we fall to 9th or 10th.

That is the worst possible option which would be quite a fail from being a point or two out of the top 4. We are 8 points behind Detroit in 10th and 11 points behind a bunch of teams 11-14 which is too much. Detroit is probably our competition for 9th and 10th.
