Those bastards and their pride! How dare they!this f***ing team can’t figure it out. Gotta win for pride!!
If the pick is in the 16 range, the trade is much more palpableJust a heads up I learned and I imagine everyone following team tank was following the Isles pick.
The islanders have the 2nd most points in the NHL since acquiring Horvat with a 10-3-3 record and a Goalie who can steal a series. With teams around them trending down it’s looking like a 18-20th overall pick we traded for Hronek and a possibility it can be even higher with a playoff run and Barzal coming back.
Hronek is a top 4 25 year old RHD who has gotten better every year and could top out as a top pair guy. Islanders are making the playoffs this year.
Amen brotherI hope CBJ gets Bedard then. They are a franchise that has actually tried to improve.
f*** Chicago, Montreal and Arizona.
No, we are about to go on a 17 game run to end the season on top of the last three wins. I anticipate something like 13-3-1 just to make sure we don’t get a top pick. Canucks - This is the wayView attachment 666417
Baring something absolutely Ridiculous, Were picking top 9 at least.
But it looks like it's gonna be 5-9.
The big issue is there is a clear imo top 6, Some people think top 7
You think the f***ers that think mean nothing games are like “playoff games” have pride? Lmao ok dudeThose bastards and their pride! How dare they!

Not sure what point you are trying to make? Elias and Miller don’t have pride? I disagree. You think the f***ers that think mean nothing games are like “playoff games” have pride? Lmao ok dude
Fantilli would be good for them.I hope CBJ gets Bedard then. They are a franchise that has actually tried to improve.

And that's the issue. When you keep trying to win now it bleeds the assets that are required to build the collective group that is compettiive. Yes, top end talent is necessary to win a cup (Kane, Stamkos) but hitting on other assets such as 2nd and 3rd round picks (Kucherov, Saad, Letang) is absolutely necessary. Thinking a tank for one or two years is sufficient to get a cup contender is one dimensional thinking. One of the best things tht Colorado did was trade Duchene.
No, its correct a proper rebuild will almost certainly result in your best chance at a cup. No cap.
I’m more lamenting the lost opportunity of the past 10 years to translate picks and aging assets to younger players that can be part of a competitive future. But I appreciate that’s water under the bridge. That doesn’t change the fact that competitive teams get competitive through hitting on later round picks and executing smart transactions that help the team for a period of time (eg Erhoff).Better fit here.
You are being too rigid with certain aspects. Why can't Demko be our Kuch, Saad or Letang? No one is saying trade all of your picks. We are saying the odds of getting a Demko, Kuch, Saad or Letang are not great. So if you can get a Hronek along the way go for it.
Again Let's look at that Canuck 2011 team. When Gillis took over they didn't win because of the great prospect pool they had. At the time it wasn't thought of very highly. They won because they built around what was there, actually funny enough rebuilt the defence. Used pro scouting well and brought in good vets, and made some good trades.
This team is in a tough spot. No one is denying that. But with Hughes and Pettersson, you have two elite players at their postions. With Miller, Kuze, Demko, and hopefully Hronek, you have something there. It is a start. Thats all a start. Getting players this talented (Top 5 in their positions) is probably harder than turning this ship around.

Stop bleeding picks and build around current assets in creative ways is the road to sustainable success.
We are talking about a 6 week tank to finish this season and secure a high pick and draft the best player to add to the core.Better fit here.

They’ve played in vancouver over the last few years and both have re-signed. I doubt they hate losing that much lmaoIs it pride or do they simply hate losing no matter the circumstances? I suspect it's more the latter.
