Games of note today:
Ducks @ Capitals 4pm pacific Ducks 41 points in 58 games
Wild at Blue Jackets 4 pm B. Jackets 41 points 57 games played
Preds @ Sharks 7:30 pm Sharks 47 points in 58 games
Canucks @ Blues 5 pm Nucks 49 points in 57 games

Ducks and Columbus are in worst; Canucks tied for 5th worst with Arizona, but Coyotes have played an extra game

Juolevi this juolevi that
Yea we should have went tkachuk, i was at the event, I was as mad as anybody.
But if we selected any of the other top D than juolevi, everything woukd be completely fine.

this draft has 2 really great defenders, Lets grab both
Or take the BPA at 5 - 6, and grab dmen with our next 2 picks.

edit - or pretty much all Dmen after the first pick, maybe one goalie

Against Blues without Tarasenko or ROR, I don't see us losing. Hopefully the other tank teams will win and mitigate our point gain.

Blues are already a pretty streaky team to begin with and now they've basically mailed it after after the locker room demoralizing trades of ROR/Tank. This might even be easier than playing against a team like the Coyotes or Habs who actually try to win on most nights

I think the Blues take it. They’re still a level above the Canucks and guys are playing for their jobs. Unless Silovs stands on his head this should be a loss.

While I don't like cheering against the Canucks, Go Blues. I so want as good a shot at Bedard as possible. The hockey gods, which I don't believe and ridicule anyone who does, owe us.

(The golf gods, who I chose to belittle with no faith after I fluked a birdie to win some money, chose to put my next 3 shots into the water). But I don't believe in gods.

Yeah. The Blues are just in mail it in mode. Other "tank" teams actually still try to play hard.

The kicker is that OEL is injured. Removing him from the lineup really hurts the tank. Usually good for one egregious goal against per game.

Looking at the NHL standings this morning, and the plight of the Canucks and the Coyotes, the futility of the Canuckleheads situation really hits home.

Only July 24th, 2021, the Canucks traded three players on expiring contracts--Beagle, Roussel and Eriksson--plus a top-10 first round draft pick (Dylan Guenther) and a second round pick (Hunter Haight) for OEL and Connor Garland.

Fast forward a year and a half, and the Canucks and Coyotes are dead even in the standings with 49 points--and obviously are 'dead even' in terms of odds at drafting Connor Bedard.

And glancing at Cap Friendly, the Canucks have the fifth highest payroll in hockey, while the Coyotes are second from the bottom.

The trade proved to be the last gasp for Jim Benning who was fired four months later. But the Canucks will be wearing it for years.

There was this prehistorical pig called Entelodont, who was known to be a ferocious scavenger. If it finds a dead animal carcass, it will fight other scavengers over the carcass. When it cannot win, the pig will briefly pounce on the dead animal and take a huge shit on it, then run away like a little bitch.

I suspect that JEB did some good research on this animal and took very detailed notes.

Gave Blues 1 pity point, but still that's 2 more points for us that we'll never get rid of.

Oh well, can't lose em all I guess.

f*** this stupid team.

Last year in the stretch when we needed to win games we couldn’t we a damn f in game and now when we need to lose Elias pettersson is torching off the fin score sheet.
