Every game tonight may have draft implications for the Canucks.
Jets @ Islanders - 4pm
Flames @ Coyotes - 6:30pm
Blackhawks @ Stars - 6:30pm
I kinda want that next year pick.Isles currently sitting at 13th so I guess we want them to lose? Or maybe a point?
I prefer this year. Isles will still be a bubble team, but this is a deeper draft and the prospect will be a year further along in development.I kinda want that next year pick.
I posted this in the NYI thread .... In regards to getting 1st OA next year.I kinda want that next year pick.

This years pick would be ideal as the top Dmen are all slated to go around that Isles pick (13/15). We could end up with one of the 2 best Dmen in this draft and they are only pushed back because of how good the forwards are.
The best part about this draft is the top 2 Dmen are both RHD, Reinbacher and ASP. If we leave with a top forward with our pick and one of them we are in a great spot.
I’d be surprised if Reinbacher is available with the Islanders pick, maybe if it’s at 13th we can sneak him in with say Will Smith with our pick, that would be a home run for the draft. I can see a team taking Reinbacher in the top 10.

CHI regulation win, pulling out of the basement...
No, this isn't a good draft for defensemen in the first roundHow about curveball, and pick the best 2 D in the draft, Without caring about size?
David Reinbacher at 6-8
Axel Sandin-Pellikka 13-16
I Would be down with that, big time.
Both are starting to separate themselves
Wait.... Are you saying we are headed for more meaningful games in march than ever?About 16-17 of the teams are in play with ours plus NYI pick.
24-30 for us
10 teams to watch for NYI. Eastern wildcards, eastern and west bubble teams and teams trailing them by up to 6 points.
Most nights most games matter.
Time for Fredo to want another banner raised at Rogers!Wait.... Are you saying we are headed for more meaningful games in march than ever?
Canucks need a couple of losses to let Hawks, Sharks and Yotes move up.
Yep, yep, yep. Sad how much that poster simply doesn't get it.LOL.... you need to get out more. If you think Vancouver is expensive, try living in New York, Chicago, LA, Miami, etc.
I spend a lot of time every year in Phoenix, it's a nice place.... to visit. I tried living there and it sucked. 125F in the summer, you literally can NOT go out side. The town itself is bland, everything looks the same. You could be in Suprise, Goodyear or Chandler... and you couldn't tell the difference. BORING AS f***.
Vancouver doesn't rain 90% of the year, when you have to massively exaggerate to make a point, your point is invalid. Vancouver is generally gorgeous from Mid May until Mid Sept, last year until Mid Oct... the last several years you could probably count the number of rainy days during those months on two hands and you can actually go outside in the summer for hours... not just minutes.
There is a reason Vancouver is expensive.... people actually WANT to live here. Don't like it? Move to Edmonton and tell me you "Have a better life".... LOL.

Sounds like retirement is treating you well, hope I get there someday.quoted from Umkay:

WE are just about to enter the great time of year. Even from mid March to mid May you can usually golf 80 - 90% of the time. The only downside to BC is 1 - the cost of housing 2 - the traffic and 3 - for 3 of the last 5 years we have had terrible smoke.
I moved to Chilliwack when I left the states, so the traffic is a fraction of the problem. I can get to the North Shore to see friends in less than an hour. I can get to Kelowna in under 3. The only real downside is the days when I either the smoke or the pollution is so bad that my wife can't go outside.
But there is a very good reason why Vancouver is considered one of the best places in the world to live. Being retired, member of a golf course, own my place, have reasonable savings and retirement, love the group I play hockey with, travel 4 - 5 times a year and play pickleball. I find this place near perfect. Now if we could just win a cup ....
still have our challenges. Lost a very beloved cat last week. shit happens.Sounds like retirement is treating you well, hope I get there someday.
We are tempting Juolevi like fate taking a high pick on one of these guys. I'd rather trade the Islanders pick and get a late first and an extra second than risk it on one of these guys. Unlike many others, I think Dragicevic will be good. Maybe similar to a Mike Green type player. Maybe not what we need but you need to take the best player. I'd take him and maybe Cagnoni in the early second round. Yeah we need strong defensive RD but you need to take these guys in the late second and third rounds because they take a while to develop. Need more picks. No, this isn't a good draft for defensemen in the first round
