I'm actually surprised by how some of these bottom feeders are winning recently.

Just wait until the last 15 games or so when the playoff positions are solidified. Just about every year the bottom feeders go on a heater one year I remember Buffalo, Arizona and Canucks had the best records in the NHL during the last few weeks, it didn't change much except the headlines in Vancouver were "Look how good they are next year they will ...." Season Ticket sales on now.

Also look at the schedules maybe some are just getting to a big long home stand.

It could be too that the players are playing to have value for a trade, for the next contract or a contract at all, just got a good goalie run.

Canucks just lost Schenn so there could be a bigger dip yet.

Their goaltending has actually been really good to keep their record semi-respectable.

This Anaheim team is one of the worst teams I've ever seen and if they weren't getting goaltending would have struggled to win more than 10 games this year. Every game I've watched is basically a shooting gallery.

But yes - easily the worst team in the league this year.

Yeah, anybody that's 10+ points up is very unlikely to be caught by this point barring something monumental.

For example, even if the Canucks manage to go 0.550 the rest of the way, the Senators would have to do worse than 0.385 for us to catch them.
