Can you imagine if Arizona wins the lottery and we get 2nd pick. What will you do if you're Bedard?

Play in a college rink with Keller in obscurity. Or form a Yzerman/Fedorov duo down the middle with EP in his hometown while the captaincy is up for grabs?
Well he doesn't really have a choice unless he wants to lose out on 7ish years of high quality NHL dollars.

Bedard will do what papa Bettman tells him to do.

Attend college for a few years and then get a real job.

Sharks blank the Kraken and close to within a point of the Canuckelheads.......after this upcoming road trip, the Canucks could return home with the fourth best lottery odds.

The tank is gathering momentum.

Play in Arizona. Fantastic place to be if you have $. Far better women and great weather, less scrutiny and lower cost of living. Not to mention all the young talent they have been assembling

Go to Arizona and team up with Matthews in 2 years. Arizona will also be bad next year and get Celebrini/Eiserman.

If I was a hockey player from Vancouver I certainly don't want to play here. Like why? The fans are miserable. The city is over priced and rains for 90% of the year. You could have a way better life in Arizona.

I kinda really love my job actually
I know we’ve had our hiccups, but if I pick up my act and show you for 6 months, would you refer me ? :thumbu:

Imagining Bedard and Pettersson on the powerplay together with Quinn Hughes is free dopamine
Bullshit.

We’d get bored of it and accustomed to it after our first cup win.

Let me break this down, isn't the same rationale that links Matthews to that Mickey mouse franchise the same as the one that people use to justify Bedard's affinity to this rain drenched city?

Arizona will be run with minimum payroll, they are still smarting from taking on Kassian's 3.2*2, what makes you think they will pony up 10+ million for Matthews? Is Bettman backing up the Brink's himself?

No. He will be floundering on ice in obscurity with scuttlebugs Keller and Cooley in a dreadful market for a while.

Off the ice? Vancouver is a bad place for people with money?? Maybe you should take a peek how much money the Sedins have in their accounts purely from buying properties here. From what I can see, ppl with money loves it here, maybe I'm biased, but Vancouver tops the world's most livable city lists is esp true for those in the 1%, the rich don't think this city is "overpriced" don't make me laugh about Arizona in comparison.

IF the choice is between Coyotes and Vancouver. You have to seriously entertain the notion of Bedard pulling a Lindros.

The argument is pointless. We're going to go on our little annual 8-10 game run near the end of the season with and untraded Schenn and Silovs playing like Hasek, finish outside the top 10, be passed by the Islanders who will win Bedard sweepstakes where he'll team up with Horvat and Barzal. But we'll be able grab a slightly built Swedish RD in the top 13 who will be the next Tobias Bjornfot, and we'll get the Islanders 30th overall selection next season. This is our reality, accept it.

Yep

Brock Boeser Bedard Pettersson
Hughes Myers

Drools
Switch Boeser with Kuzmenko and Myers with anyone else and I'm on board

Vancouver is just as much of a joke franchise as Arizona. Once they get their new stadium they will start to spend on salaries. I split my time between Scottsdale and Vancouver and I never go to games down there because it’s an hour commute. There is a reason that so many ex NHLers have retried down there including Canucks alumni

In the 50+ years of the nhl draft, only Lindros has "pulled a Lindros". You might want to reconsider how seriously Bedard will entertain that notion.
I also find it unlikely 17 year old Bedard has formed a strong enough opinion about life in Arizona to demand a trade out before he even gets there. Remember Lindros' reasons? I do, and also know French isn't the first language of the Phoenix area.

Nobody is saying if Vancouver wins the lottery Bedard won't sign and will demand a trade to Arizona.

Is this really happening? I haven’t been around for awhile since the team has been hot garbage, but with the way the tank has been going it seems like all the stars are aligning for Bedard to Vancouver. Of course we all know the team is gonna go on a heater soon for pride and all that. I just can’t let myself get excited. But damn

If not Bedard then a really good pick anyway

Schenn, a plus player on a minus team with bad defence, moving

I love it when people say this, like what, are we supposed to be excited with the tire fire we've been forced to endure for the last 10 years? The embarrassment of an owner that we have? If we got Bedard this city would come alive, every die hard and band wagon jumper would come out of the shadows. We all know that.

Anything is possible i guess. I personally have a cousin who was struck by lightning for example. It's just that on top of Lindros being the only one to do that, Bedard doesn't seem at all like that kind of kid. He didn't demand a trade out of Regina right?

LOL.... you need to get out more. If you think Vancouver is expensive, try living in New York, Chicago, LA, Miami, etc.

I spend a lot of time every year in Phoenix, it's a nice place.... to visit. I tried living there and it sucked. 125F in the summer, you literally can NOT go out side. The town itself is bland, everything looks the same. You could be in Suprise, Goodyear or Chandler... and you couldn't tell the difference. BORING AS f***.

Vancouver doesn't rain 90% of the year, when you have to massively exaggerate to make a point, your point is invalid. Vancouver is generally gorgeous from Mid May until Mid Sept, last year until Mid Oct... the last several years you could probably count the number of rainy days during those months on two hands and you can actually go outside in the summer for hours... not just minutes.

There is a reason Vancouver is expensive.... people actually WANT to live here. Don't like it? Move to Edmonton and tell me you "Have a better life".... LOL.
