Games are going to get so many ugly without Horvat .. can’t wait to watch! Let’s go top 5!

Wait until you see Boeser in the bumper position.

Playoffs: unlocked.

(Boeser probably would do good too just to be a piss off)
I think Miller goes to the bumper spot and Boeser gets Millers spot.

Now that they went and moved Horvat early (as in not at the last possible second at the TDL) I would lower my expectation for the Canucks to finish 7th - 11th in the standings and if Demko does not return soon and in form 6th - 10th.

What does that achieve? Move him at the first opportunity. Cap space is far more valuable.

Boeser is what he is at this point.
It’s basic asset management, get as much as you can. We have time, might as well use it to our benefit. I feel like knee jerk reactions are what got us here.

No Horvat, Mikheyev and Demko is HUGE for the tank.

Top 5 is within reach!!!!!

1. Bedard
2. Fantilli
3. Carlsson
4. Mitchkov
5. Smith

Benson much more likely to be top 5. After top 5 on through to around 19 its a tier down and little to separate them. Getting into top 5 is critical.

I completely agree I can’t believe these people that want to hold Boeser been listening to too much Drance. I would have waived Boeser after cancer night.

It is funny that there is some excitement for Beauvillier when Boeser, who some treat as a black sheep, has 50% more points than him - at the same age.

I'd trade Boeser, as I would Beauvillier, for futures as I'm pro tank. No reason to dump him for nothing though.

Well Beauvillier can at least skate which will be nice for a change. What’s Boesers plus skill? Leaching points off teammates? Kid doesn’t drive play and is just a flat out boring hockey player

Canucks are definitely a worse team now than they were last week. And I'd be in no hurry to rush Demko back. Let Delia and Martin carry us to the promised land of Connor Bedard.

I see why you would think that if points are all you're looking at.

I bet they shut down Demko for the rest of the season. Maybe give a "oh he'll be back in another 3 weeks..." update before shutting him down somewhere near the end of that.

Why, we are clearly going to suck and just opened up a PP spot for him, we should let it play out until the end of the year at least.
Normally I’d agree but the more games he plays, the more the entire league will realize how bad of a skater he has become.

But the pump and dump strategy is intriguing. Playing with EP at 5v5 + PP1 time would make any half decent forward fall ass backward into 60 points

I wanted to do the same with the Sedins post-Kesler trade. Use the RW1 spot as a pump and dump spot for free picks/prospects.

Can you imagine if the Canucks won the draft lottery; and the Islanders get the 13th overall pick in the same lottery and it reverts to Vancouver? Would be a total game-changer for this downtrodden franchise.

I know it's the longest of longshots, but like a Lotto ticket purchaser, there's no harm in dreaming.
