The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Changes are required for the leafs to advance.

Start with a new coach, new goaltender, and a Nylander trade. Kerfoot and Holl should be their way out as well. The team needs considerably more jam and scoring depth.

I would consider dealing Matthew's for a pile of first rounders and young talent. He's gone in 2 years anyway.

Well your team is also significantly weaker than past years

I don’t know if we even get to seven if Coleman goodrow gourde and Johnson are there

None the less, tampa was very good and played a series deserving to win. They capitalized their chances, blocked shots when they had to, and were physical
I agree with all of that.

I do think that Perry, Paul and Hagel were huge additions. But I agree that we are weaker than our last 2 runs.

This was soo satisfying to watch. Nylander is just not it for me though, he needs to go for the Leafs. Nick Paul dismantling the Leafs in game 7 while Matthews Marner JT Nylander watched was hilarious

This was their best loss though. Their coach said their guys got more respect after this loss than the other losses. So it was a good loss?
It was a dumb thing to say

It was so dumb

Best loss??

Put that beside xGF% and GF% as most useless things on planet earth

I said it before and I’ll say it again, they try to paint losers as winners

Vasi would be just another average goalie on the Flyers

You could plug Martin Jones on TB and they still win Cups

The Lightning win in spite of Jon Cooper, not because of him

None of that is true, at least not anymore.

I think there was a time when Cooper wasn't doing a great job. But now I think he's likely the best coach in the league. We have seen him literally steal things from better coaches over the years -- we started clutching and grabbing in the playoffs after the first Wings series; we started playing "the Cooper Shell" after the CBJ sweep.

What does Cooper actually DO?!

More Wasting matthews career in a dumpster fire.

But another nice trophy for him this year. the NPC award.

time for matty to demand a trade. No wonder he wouldn't sign for term. imagine telling your agent you never wanna win anything get me max term with the laffs.

I guess he Could always come west and play with a good Canadian team... the regrettable part of his career is almost done.

They play perimeter hockey

The playoffs just got a less interesting

I’m tired of hearing about all these entitled Bolts who think the Cup is their birthright
They get a lead and go into a shell. The only real perimeter players are Stamkos and Kucherov, but Kucherov gets a pass because he still scores the lights out.

I agree so much with Keefe in this interview, what makes Tampa an elite team is how much they prioritize defending. And how they can shut down any team in the third period when up a goal. THAT'S what makes a championship team and it's a future championship coach to recognize that.
