They get no credit for it, but their breakout passes and transition game is f***ing incredible. They give you no time to get close enough to affect the puck and their passes are dead accurate, even the long ones. Hell, between that and the goalie, their forwards might be only the 3rd best aspect of their team, and their forwards have a legitimate claim as the best forward group in the league IMO. That team is just bonkers good.
Agree. They are money on the breakout, their forwards come back better than any other team I’ve seen, and their cycle is *ridiculous.*

It's going to be an interesting off-season. If we lose Dougie and Skjei our Blue line is going to turn into a weakness real fast.

The biggest disappointment or red flag from this playoffs is Rods inability to adapt. He hasn't shown he is capabile in three playoffs in a row. Tampa adjusted their PP and PK after two games. What did Rod do?

Well they still aren't good enough. A perennial post season team, but don't have the pieces to go all the way yet. We'll see if this management team is good enough to overcome this hurdle.

This is a big offseason to keep this team going on the right path just because of the moving parts. I think we were capable of more than what we showed this round but Tampa is also really great. Even getting to the second round isn't that easy. I don't want to sacrifice everything for the future, but I think we are now in the part of the window where we need to be very aggressive this offseason.

What annoyed me the most about this series (aside from us taking stupid penalties) was Tampa's tendency to wrap arms around our sticks to draw more penalties.

That was some bullshit.

Their PP is deadly, if they are going to be beaten the opposing team needs to stay out of the box.

A few here mentioned that something seemed a little off with the team near the end of the season. I hope whatever it was can be readily addressed. They just looked kinda worn out all playoffs after zipping around Jan-April.

Look at Tampa 2 years ago....blew their load during the regular season. I think that's part of what happened here, although it's a little disconcerting that it happened in a 56 game season as opposed to the "normal" 82.

I agree. We need to be a little bold IMO during this year's offseason.

I don't see Eichel coming our way (if Buffalo didn't ask for so much in return, and they retained part of his salary, then maybe so; that's a lot of ifs though), but somethings gotta give at this point.

All we did during this year's trade deadline was get Hakenpaa. In hindsight, maybe that wasn't for the best.

Hi everyone!
I'm a Lightning fan coming in peace here.
GG to you and your team: you're a very good team and I'm sure that, if your organization continues to work in this way, you'll have fun next years.
Much respect for what Captain Rod Brind'Amour is doing with your team: it's always an amazing story when a Legend return to coach the club he went famous with.
Like (if someone of you follows soccer) Pep Guardiola did with FC Barcelona.
So credit to him and to his job.
GG guys!!!

Yup. Once you get to the 2nd round, unless you're in Canada division, a really good team is probably going to lose. And in a 7 game series, it could be anyone.

Based on how they played Boston the last 2 years in elimination games, I'm not terribly confident, though I remain hopeful. If we can get one good game of vengeance tonight, I'll be somewhat more satisfied. Tampa + Stamkos + Kuch is no joke, but PLEASE don't go out with a whimper...again...
