I'm a Canes fan, have been for 15 years. I've been tracking the careers of Ned, Trocheck, Hamilton for a long time. I'd rather be here, glad to see you guys are inclusive. I'm not coming to shit talk, I'm just frustrated, as you all are.

Well then, my apologies. I didn’t recognize you and the username led me to believe you were a wings fan. Incorrectly assumed you were trolling. My bad!

Yep, we've had 2 shots at it now, along with allowing our young guys to develop and it hasn't brought us any closer. Yes Tampa is one of the best teams in the league and reigning Cup champs but we literally had no answers for them at all.
That's exactly how I feel, and why this stings more for me.

Some people are fantasizing about getting Eichel in a trade but those kinds of blockbuster trades (or UFAs for that matter) never happen to us. Maybe we improve from within the system with our prospects? I don't know. We might lose Hamilton, and separately, another defenseman to the expansion draft all for nothing in return. Plus McGinn may or may not be here, and Svech is up for a contract iirc. There's a lot of uncertainty with this offseason, and then you throw in the context of us struggling 3 playoffs in a row to make the cup finals?

We never even used our timeout. And Boston’s top line played like 3 out of the last 4 minutes against the Isles last night, with 2 older players. When it’s expected to be 6-5 with possession in the O zone to close the game, yes our top guys can play those minutes, and should.

And when they’ve been as offensively inept as they were at home this series I’m ok with sending out someone else cause what the hell do they have to lose.

It is a bitter irony to me that Hakanpaa got called for interference off the face off, when 1)Tampa runs pick plays more than anyone and 2) that kind of interference happens on every faceoff, every night in the NHL.

Like, the NHL needs to examine if they want pic plays to remain, every good team is running them.

But hats to Tampa, their depth outplayed the Canes depth, pesce/skjei struggled against Stamkos unit, pesce in particular looked bad this series, he's either injured or gassed. I hope the cap gods come down on Tampa, they may have to sell an entire line of talent for pennies on the dollar.

Also, fuxk.

Maybe but Tampa was similar to us before the 2019 season. then they changed their roster. and got Grittier peeps like Coleman and more.

The way I see it is that on paper, Tampa is the only team in what is the usual Eastern Conference that is better than the Canes. They need to finally be cap compliant next year (I doubt they can pull off this LTIR stuff again) and get rid of players, whereas the Canes are in a much more favourable position to add.

Hard to forecheck a team as skilled as Tampa that's filled with players that can make quick accurate passes and skate. Can't win a board battle when the puck is already gone.

They get no credit for it, but their breakout passes and transition game is f***ing incredible. They give you no time to get close enough to affect the puck and their passes are dead accurate, even the long ones. Hell, between that and the goalie, their forwards might be only the 3rd best aspect of their team, and their forwards have a legitimate claim as the best forward group in the league IMO. That team is just bonkers good.

What a great season. Sad ending but we ran into the defending champs and didn't have an answer for one of the best goal tenders of this generation. We will re group and we will be back.

I know a lot of you are pussed with good reason, but don't get down on this team they will be a top team in the league for the next 10 plus years.

I have no particular disdain for Tampa. Not in our natural division and they have earned their success. They are the champs until someone knocks them off. Thats the way it goes.

Same. They drafted well and built a contender through post-1st round talent. They also went through some growing pains themselves.

Im also not going to blame Rod. This series was a lot tighter than the win/loss ratio is. Make no mistake, we lost this series. No ref blaming or complaining about the competition being tough on us.

With that said, I'm sure nobody is taking this harder than Coach Rod. We can second guess and armchair coach all we want, but I have no doubt he will make sure this makes us better in the long run.
