He's been ok, but he's much better than ok usually, is what I meant. He'll get there, he missed a lot of time.

I guess I like the fact that even when he's having an off-game, he's not handing the puck over in his own zone in front of his own net.

It's more that he's missing the odd pass through the neutral zone.

I knew even before the season started that Chychrun and Chabot will always gamble and take risks with more frequency than Zub and Sanderson.

Which is why I still don't understand the pairings.

I like how brady mentioned that he feels they're playing fast.

I agree the team is playing super fast right now. Great tempo and hard quick passes. Lots of slick plays at high speed.

Trade Kubalik and keep Joseph seems like the clear move now. Or Brannstrom who has been ok but is replaceable

Hopefully this means that Kubalik will score two in the next game.

Brady saved a sure goal earlier in the game too. People like to talk about his play in his own zone and that was a real game-saver on basically an empty net.

Me neither, I'll never get that.

The only reason I can think of is to have your best 2 d-men on different lines, while both having them play the left side.

I'd still trust Sanderson to cover for chabot right now though and get Chychrun in with steady zub.

Kelly is absolutely buzzing.

Yeah, even I have to give him props for his offensive zone play in particular.

Especially in being a pest and not taking penalties.

Yeah, either/or.

Chabot's best hockey with Ottawa was with Zub and DeMelo.

True. Doesn't matter. Sanderson and anyone is fine, let alone our 2nd best D and then Chabot and Zub has always worked.

Sanderson is mind-blowingly good. Damn.

It would be great to see Kelly take a big step. I've mostly written him off, to be honest.

Yeah, but it's going to take awhile for it to sink in around the league's fanbases unless you watch him game in and game out.

He does a lot of subtle things out there. Always shields the puck the right way, makes the extra move to ensure the clean zone exit pass, puts the stick in the right place to steal the puck on the backcheck.

Never seems perturbed or panics, but also never looks like he's coasting or casual.

Well, the standard is pretty low because he just needs to play a simple game. Unfortunately, simple also means mistake-free.

Sanderson’s skating is very Karlsson esque. He doesn’t have that EAsports speed burst but the stride when he’s on his horse gives me flashbacks.

Giroux wins so many 50/50 puck battles it’s ridiculous. I hope he re-signs and plays until he’s 39-40. Having him and now Alfie around the young core is the definition of priceless.

When Norris is ready I think Kubalik would be the easiest player to trade and he’s definitely the most expendable. Not sure what other move can be made. With Greig and Joseph playing the way they have it’s a no brainer imo.

Tkachuk-Stu-Giroux
Batherson-Norris-Tarasenko (please try this)
Greig-Pinto-Joseph (money 3rd line)
Smejkal-Chartier/Kastelic-Kelly

Wouldn’t tell the difference if Kubalik isn’t there but you need to be certain everyone is healthy

Is Joseph - Greig - Tarasenko our real first line? A combo of energy, skill and experience that seems to be clicking.

Our first line is still a bit disjointed, but Brady doesn't care, he's involved and pulls slick moves he couldn't before. I sense a big breakout year for him.

That was a great win tonight I was impressed

You have a great chance at winning when you limit opposing team to under 25 shots on goal!

Sanderson is just so unreal. I honestly think he will be like a Pietrangelo/Keith. A Norris quality player.

Just need to get him on the first PP now. He is so smart on the offensive blueline. Gets the puck moving with pace too. Chabot-Chycrun can run PP2, keeping the d pairs together.
