Tage Thompson doesn't impress so far

The curse of the HFBoards poll section. Once people start comparing you to players who have done it for years, people will be all over you for a slow start.

Sabres not impress so far.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Thompson, at least last year, was incredibly streaky. 12 goals, 20 pts in 4 games last year against bad teams.

Thats 20% of his scoring in 5% of games.

If you include 3 pts nights, he had 41 pts in 11 games.

He also had about 24 games without a single point.

Wouldnt surprise me if he exploded sooner than later
Exploded you say?

Every good player has a stretch where the chips just don't fall for them at some point in the season. The microscopes are always out at the beginning of the season and in the playoffs.

Buffalo should reunite the Skinner-Thompson-Tuch line because Greenway is just not cut for a top 6 role on any team.

Are you in a 2 man league?

It was last season… 10 man league.

In Yahoo, good Cs are abundant because you can only dress 2 per game day. Thompson just came off what some thought could be an outlier season and Ullmark was somewhat a question mark because he just came from the Sabres.

Thompson has had 2 good seasons in a row. You should ask your commissioner to change the rules at that point because if you forced to only dress 2 centers, odds are everyone in your league has a super team.

Greenway has probably been our 2nd best forward to start the season behind only Mitts.

And the Greenway-Tage-Cozens Line of Giants has been infinitely better in their games together this season than the old standby was.

When he goes 15-20 games pacing like a 60 point guy, the “was last year a flash in the pan” convos become more reasonable.
Well Tage has 9+11=20 points in his last 28 games. That's a pace of 26+32=58 points over 82 games. So yeah he's pretty much at the point when we should start questioning if he was mostly a one hit wonder...

28 games is an oddly specific number. Did he have 5 points or something in that 29th game?

You should really stop and read posts before responding to them.

It was last season’s draft (22/23) where I picked Tage Thompson in the final round. The reason he was available that late is because many thought his previous season (21/22) was an outlier.

Yahoo pools are, for the most part, very generic… in 98% of the pools you can only dress 2 Cs per game day. You can add flex roster positions but most don’t.

I'm all for including the 6 games to start this season, but he was playing through injury to end the year. It was clear that he was being impacted heavily by the injury. I think that 1.75 seasons of top 15 center type performance buys him a little bit of a runway.

Buffalo need's to put someone in front of the net during the power play, team had no desperation to tie the game last nite.
