It's definitely poorly worded. He wouldn't even make Sabres history given Buffalo has 2 guys who had 7 hat tricks in a season (Martin & Mogilny). 1 more and he would be only the 2nd player to have 5 or more in a season in the cap era though.

Will never forget the ridiculous insults that were spewed at Thompson. Can proudly say I have been a Thompson fan-boy from day 1.
