On the latest Puck Soup wyz was on and suggested if Thompson was to return to STL a fair trade would be TNT + Power for Thomas and Kyrou

Wysh is alright but he's very blatantly not in tuned with the Sabres at all. He had Granato in his top 5 coaches most likely to be fired this year.

Given the way Wysh has treated the Sabres back to his Yahoo days, I really think someone in the organization that is still in the organization REALLLLLLY did something to Wysh. Leaked bad info, straight-up lied, kicked his dog, insulted his Mama......something like that.

He has not liked or cared for the Sabres basically since the Pegulas took over.

I dunno, usually elite talent is evident regardless of coaching and/or (mis)management. The talents of Eichel and Dahlin were very noticeable despite guys like Bylsma, Kruger, and Housley. Tage looked like he was gonna max out as a replacement level player who would float around the league for several years, and never approach his supposed ceiling as a 30/30 top six winger. Tage becoming an elite player seemingly out of nowhere is pretty crazy. I dunno if it’s unprecedented, but I can’t recall a meh forward suddenly becoming one of the best in the league at age 25.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy and am enjoying every minute of this. But I’m still having trouble wrapping my head around him exploding on to the scene the way he has. Simply incredible.

Robert Lang might be a comparable, though more extreme as Lang didn't really become good until he was almost 30. To a lesser degree guys like Jason Blake or Marty St. Louis.

Tage is about to pass Robert Lang's career high in goals in less than 40 games. There's no comparison.

I meant in terms of production and coming out of no where. Lang went from a career high of 22 points at 27 years old to 44, 65 and then 80. Looking for exact comparisons to goal scoring is going to net you no results when I was comparing him as a guy who was basically a replacement level player improving almost out of no where.

After digging a little more I think you could make a case for John Leclair, he didn't really do much his first couple of seasons before going on the have 3 50 goal seasons in a row. and 2 more of 40+. His jump wasn't as extreme, but he did go 2->8->19->19->26->51->50->51->43->40.

"K.I.S.S" he is fighting himself and the puck lately. It happens, similar stretch to season open. I think he lost his rhythm during the big layoff from snowstorm.
