Player Discussion Tage Thompson 2

We aren't sneaking into the playoffs. You don't sneak into anything if you have a giraffe that is on fire
Salvador Dali has you covered, he foretold the coming of Tage Thompson all the way back in 1937.

Tage already has more goals than all but one season Eichel ever had. It’s January 3. And they had two games postponed.
He also has nearly as many assists as Eichel has total points. Credit to Skinner and Tuch for often finishing good chances and reading off each other well, but Thompson's playmaking has been nuts this year.

I made a joke in the thread for his signing a new deal while some were talking about goal scoring regression that it was just as likely he turns into an elite playmaker because his growth is so unexplainable anything is possible.

so…you’re welcome

It makes zero sense, from any perspective. Either the guy telling Friedman that is full of shit or Friedman himself is full of shit.
2 years ago?... I "might" buy it, but there is no doubt Friedman has something against the Sabres/Pegulas too for some reason. That "might coincide when info seemed to stop going out of the building to insiders like him.

He's so easy to root for.
Chemistry is so important, not the end all, but important as we know.
Funny quote from 24 Hour Party People about The Happy Mondays. "Baz brought chemistry to the Mondays and boy he was a great chemist (drug reference)". :D

Maybe it was the off season of the expansion draft. Players were getting sold off for cheap due to limited protection slots. The Sabres might have considered trading a forward and protecting four defensemen.
If I had to guess, Pittsburgh, Philly, Anaheim, or Arizona

But it shows NO ONE in the league expected this growth. Don is F'in genius for moving him to center but it may of been a happy accident too.

It’s funny how important positive culture is across so many things but in almost any sport. It’s a cricket link (and I know people from North America think it’s the world’s most boring sport) but you reminded me of it by saying Baz. New Zealand’s cricket caption was Brendon McCullum (Baz). He was part of a game where we were embarrassingly, like seriously embarrassingly beaten by South Africa. He decided to change everything. Within a couple of years the team went from an international joke to number 1 and being modelled after by other nations. We were everyone else’s #2 team (apart from maybe those Australians). The NZ players would clap other players’ achievements during a game and then beat them. Winning, and winning while being the nicest people. Honestly it was a bit like Cool Runnings. Australia were the best and they acted like :eek::eek::eek::eek: and badmouthed everyone so NZ thought they had to do the same to win. We didn’t need to count to four in German like the Swiss. We had to Feel the Ride.

“Because it’s not my team, it’s not [head coach] Mike Hesson’s team, it’s the New Zealand cricket team, and there is a responsibility there on each player to make sure they turn up and try their best. But if guys do that, we provide them with a good environment where they can enjoy themselves and start to develop as people and cricketers.”

I look at what Granato is doing with this team, and the attitudes of Cozens, Tage, Skinner, Tuch, Dahlin et al, and I can’t help but see the same thing beginning in the Sabres.

per Friedman
Can we just laugh at the description: "The Sabres Wanted To Trade Tage Thompson While He Was With The Sabres"

As opposed to wanting to trade him when he wasn't with the Sabres? If that's a thing, why the hell haven't we traded Brad Marchand away from the Bruins?

Hey, if your parents can spend 100 grand to send you to Syracuse/Newhouse, you can go work a 80 hour week and for 40K a year at wgr too! :D

Because they don't have Danny Paille to offer again.

2 of the 3 parts of my prediction have come true. Said he'd have 25G before he wins the hardest shot at the all-star game.

Only one thing left. 105mph. Calling it now.
