I haven't been looking to purposely make Sabres and Solar Bears connections, but the more I learn about the Don Granato Sabres, it's like they're describing the Solar Bears of the past few years (although not this season, fortunately).
A young team that seems like they want to turn that final corner, but never does. Struggling in actually important games. Constant slow starts, etc.
I get that focusing on rings in the room sounds like tough guy stuff, but consistent postseason success doesn't happen because 'anything can happen in the playoffs'. It's not random. It's not random. Having (likely several) successful seasons is a sign of good season planning.
We'll see who Kevyn Adams hires, but his press conference yesterday seemed like it could be promising.
