Interesting that Halverson is going again in game 3 tonight for Syracuse, Tomkins backing up.
I'm glad that Halverson is playing, especially in the AHL, but I am a bit concerned what happens if Evan Fitzpatrick gets injured. Orlando has an ATO goalie who has never played a minute pro.Interesting that Halverson is going again in game 3 tonight for Syracuse, Tomkins backing up.
EP doesn't have any stats for him in Syracuse.Has there been any updates on Huuhtanen?
you beat me to it.Crunch blow a 3 goal lead and lose in OT. Good to see the Lightning 2023-2024 traditions making its way to the AHL too
Not Franz Jean’s fault probably but man do we suck in developing goalies. Sad to see Hugo fail and leave, had high hopes for him. This should be Hugo's last season in the organization. For all of his potential, he has failed season after season to establish himself as the number one AHL goalie this organization so hoped he would be. I have made enough excuses for his lackluster play, enough is enough with him. Whether he finds a home with another organization here in North America or heads overseas, his departure will not be missed and will open the door for other goaltenders to realize the number one AHL spot in the Tampa Bay organization is wide open.
Shame to draft him in the 3rd round and he never progresses enough, meanwhile one of the top goalies (Dustin Wolf) in that draft fell all the way to the 7th round purely based on height and has been a top goalie in the A. Wolf would have been at minimum, an elite trade chip, and at maximum, the goalie of the future to be the full-time backup for Vasilevskiy. This should be Hugo's last season in the organization. Definitely going to need to draft another goalie, but 2 other guys with ties are Persson and GaudreauWhat's up with Nick Malik? His numbers recently haven't been that good, but he's still KooKoo's starting goalie.
We might end up drafting an older goalie this year. The top NCAA guys are signed, I think.
ATOs don't mean much. The ECHL team can't even offer a qualifying offer for next season.Definitely going to need to draft another goalie, but 2 other guys with ties are Persson and Gaudreau
Ludvig Persson was a development camp invite. His senior season at North Dakota: 21-11-2 record, 2.52 GAA, .904 SV%, and 5 shutouts. Was also a finalist for NCHC goaltender of the year. The Wheeling Nailers, the ECHL affiliate of the Penguins signed him to an amateur tryout when his college season ended, but he's back on the market now.
Bolts also have former prospect tournament invite Ben Gaudreau on an amateur tryout with Syracuse. His overage season stats with Sarnia and Erie: 21-11-2 record, 3.31 GAA, .889 SV%, 0 shutouts
Drummondville advances to the Q Finals. Ethan Gauthier will play for a championship and a potential spot in the Memorial Cup
Ethan Gauthier wins Game 2 1-0 in OT
Drummonville wins the first 2 games of the series on the road in Baie-Comeau. Now they go home for Games 3 and 4 on Monday and Tuesday
