Listen, I don’t want to give you any more of a hard time than I already have, and the fact is I’m typically a fan of the Swiss at this tournament. But this just isn’t their year and they have no answer for that top German line no matter who they put out against them. In fact, better teams will have their hands full as well.

They don't need to have an answer for them because the rest of the team, mainly goaltending is much better. But by putting our worst Centerman out there against them (as I announced even before the game) we lost before the game started. It was him with the giveaway.

I disagree on the second goal. The defender raised the stick of the german player, and he lost control of the puck.

Yeah, I agree. But I can't really be mad about it. Honestly doesn't matter. We never had a chance with this sort of coaching. Might actually be helpful if we get blown out by a single line. That might help us get a badly needed coaching change:laugh:

I wouldn't expect a very different result regardless of who the Swiss put on the ice when #8 is out there.

You missed them because they're not playing together, not nearly enough minutes and they're mostly not on the PP either. They're spread all over the lineup. It's coaching making a poor team look even worse. Simon Knak played with our worst players until today. So did Jobin, but just for 8mins. Our worst Centerman is getting all the tough matchups. I could go on and on. It's horrible.

And no, I'm not hating Germany. I'm hating our coaching:laugh:

I think I am just having a hard time understanding how Jobin for example is supposed to be way better than the German forwards (besides Stützle and Peterka obviously)

And why is Knak supposed to be so much better than what the Germans have?

Canonica is a turnover machine. That giveaway was just stupid, without pressure. It had nothing to do with Stützle. You just can't do it vs. him while the rest of the German team would do shit with that puck. So even the idea to play your worst Centerman vs the opponents best is beyond stupid. And we're doing it every game.

Random question here:
How popular are non CAN games in Canada? Do you still watch every game like we do in Germany when there is soccer worldcup and even Nigeria vs. Chile would have 10 million viewers?
The main teams I am watching this year are Germany (Stutzle) and USA (Sanderson). Curious to see how these players stand out as they are two new recent pics and have not seen any gameplay of either including YouTube highlights at this point. I have washed a decent amount of the other teams as well but I could care less about Canada blowing out teams 10-0 as its expected at this point.

He was better last year than what any German forwards behind that top line have ever shown or are even capable of. If you watched last years tournament, you'd know. He's one of our top forwards, surely our 2nd best winger. Yet hardly gets to play. It's horrible.

Lol. Did you watch game 1 vs the Slovaks? He was playing on his own (again, had nobody to play with all tournament long) vs the opponents top line but he had 8 shots on goal and several grade a chances. Who, behind your top line, could do that or has experience similar to Knak's? Right. Nobody.

It's all coaching here. They sacked a brilliant coach to install themselves and since they don't want to be made responsible for their bs they installed a dummy coach to take the blame for them. Only possible in Switzerland:facepalm:

Looking at the IIHF rulebook looks like that goal was offside by letter of the law. Doesn't say anything about control, but rather "puck on stick"

https://blob.iihf.com/iihf-media/iihfmvc/media/downloads/rule book/iihf_official_rule_book_2018_ih_191114.pdf

IIHF Rulebook Rule 81 said:
If the puck carrier maintains control of the puck while his skates cross the blue line ahead of the puck, he is considered onside provided that he first had control of the puck with both skates in the neutral zone and that he kept the puck on his stick until the puck fully crossed the blue line.

Knak had 8 minutes of ice time this period. Thats 1 and a half minutes more than Stützle/Peterka got. He has enough playing time. And while he is a good player, I fail to see how he is far better than any german forward besides the top line. And even if he would be, then there are still 4 German forwards who are better than him. The swiss team has no one that is good enough to carry offense at this tournament and their defenders are outmatched against the really good players almost every team in this tournament has. Regardless of coaching Germany is pretty clearly the better team imo. Both on the ice and on paper

Wait... the rest of the Swiss team is much better???

I can only repeat myself here. Our best players are isolated, spread over the lineup. They're mostly not on the ice in key situations like PP or vs opponents top lines and they're not playing nearly enough minutes overall. Again, this is all about the clowns who installed themselves using a dummy coach. Wish we could get Paterlini back. It's a tragedy. A horror show.

Yeah sorry the team that scored 1 goal through 3 1/3 periods is cleary better than the team that scored more goals and more points with 14 skaters and pretty much no practice. They are down 3-0 now just because of coaching. Clearly they are an elite team throughout. The undrafted forward who wasn't close to a PPG in the CHL during his draft year is an offensive dynamo at this level who is outplaying almost everyone in this tournament. Besides I guess the high draft picks in this tournament which are pretty rare :)

Bias is biased

I'm not biased at all. You're constantly praising your team, claiming that there'd be more than one line:facepalm:
There's probably no point trying to convince you. Quote me again once somebody outside of your top line scores a goal. So long, mate:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Dube / Alberg look decent.
