It is our worst team but with this sort of goaltending, we should still win games. And there is offensive talent on the team. Coaching stops them from performing. Knak played with plugs only until today. Gaetan Jobin had 3 points last year and is probably our best forward besides Knak but he's playing 8mins per game with the biggest bums on the team. I couldn't even drink enough to come up with ideas like this.

I will agree that i have no idea why Jobin is playing such a small role.

I think he's referring to the stick on stick contact as Stutzle released the puck. Could be viewed as a good stick check to knock the stick off the puck. If you believe Stutzle was trying to hold onto it. But it's pretty clear he was trying to do what he did.

What I see is him having his blade on the puck in the process of making SOME move, and very clearly having his stick checked. Based on him having to reevaluate where the puck actually went, I do not believe that he was intending to put it behind the Swiss player in the direction that it went. Credit to him for making the play, but he very clearly hadn’t actually finished his move before the stick check, and that to me is loss of control.

Obviously, my opinion is irrelevant, but there are some dogmatic statements getting made by folks that simply aren’t supported by the replay (in particular anyone saying the Swiss defenseman whiffed, that opinion is absolutely incorrect and disqualifies anything else the person says).

Even with perfect coaching this is still a terrible team. Yeah there are some solid defenders on the team but none of them has any playmaking ability. On top of that pretty much the whole F core except Kanak and maybe Jobin is terrible. Yes the line combinations werent great so far. But except in Canonicas case I dont see this translating in any wins for us except maybe against Slovakia with a lot of luck.

And lets be honest I cant remeber a tournament in the last couple of years were you havent said coaching is horrible for one reason or another. Last year it was mostly the goaltending decisions. But in those years we had still pretty god results...

Paterlini was great. Yeah, I still don't get why he leaned on Hollenstein given the fact that Charlin was probably one of the tournament's top goalies and clearly outperformed Hollenstein who gave up soft goals every game. But other than that I don't think I complained about anything but minor things.

This here is really bad. I don't think I've ever seen a team as poorly coached as this one. Feeling really sorry for the guys now. Particularly Fatton. This is a tragedy.

We only half decent coaching, we wouldn't need to because we have better far goaltending, far better defense and two lines instead of just one. But if our plan put Canonica out there vs Stützle I don't know why we're even playing

I don't see any of it today and Germany with 14 skaters has impressed more than switzerland throughout the tournament. What 2 lines do the Swiss have? Must have missed them throughout the tournament. You are just hating on Germany for no reason at all. They are clearly the superior team roster wise

You missed them because they're not playing together, not nearly enough minutes and they're mostly not on the PP either. They're spread all over the lineup. It's coaching making a poor team look even worse. Simon Knak played with our worst players until today. So did Jobin, but just for 8mins. Our worst Centerman is getting all the tough matchups. I could go on and on. It's horrible.

And no, I'm not hating Germany. I'm hating our coaching

Look at the lines and who's out there vs Stützle. It's not happening. Canonica still out vs top lines and best players spread all over the lineup. 0 chance of winning like this.

Listen, I don’t want to give you any more of a hard time than I already have, and the fact is I’m typically a fan of the Swiss at this tournament. But this just isn’t their year and they have no answer for that top German line no matter who they put out against them. In fact, better teams will have their hands full as well.

You usual cut the interviews or sequences during the Game, but when you open the Channel while editing you get something out like this. But quiet funny get a intermission report during PP.

I disagree on the second goal. The defender lifted the stick of the german player, and he lost control of the puck, and got it back because of speed.
