Lets compare teams on age and experience...

Switzerland & Germany are both two of the youngest and least experienced teams in this tournament... and actually Germany is the 2nd least experienced team only beaten by Austria in this tournament re: Elite Prospects site...

The difference is one World Class line of players... Stutz', Elias, and Peterka... that is it... !!!

And they just put another exclamation point up on the board...

I'll explain it to you one last time. Our coach got sacked so the clowns were able to install themselves using a dummy coach.
Now, our best players aren't in the position to succeed this year which is why even those who played very well last year are invisible this year. They're spread all over the lineup, playing with plugs. They're not on the ice in key moments like PP or vs opponents top lines and they're not getting nearly enough ice time. Our worst players are getting way too much icetime and they're on the ice when they shouldn't be, like with our best player or vs top lines. This is why our team looks this bad. I fully agree that this is our worst team in years...but with solid goaltending and last change, we really should be able to win vs a one line team and come at least close on a bad day. Period. The fact that we're not even close is all about coaching. But again. Read my posts before the game started. I called it. I'm not at all surprised. I called it would be Canonica playing vs Stützle and it was him with the giveaway.

Thanks a lot for the explanation. I`ll stay with the their quality of depth is even and they lack high skill thesis though

Don’t want Sweden to face Germany in the quarters. Would be scary. They could upset one of Sweden/Russia/USA.

I think they lack depth for that. However getting the players back and being able to practice will help them. Then we have to hope that the Stützle-Peterka-Elias line works its magic.

On the bright side, barring Austria getting a point or Germany scoring 4+ more goals here Switzerland is going to finish 9th overall instead of 10th without relegation games this year Austria's goal difference is worse

It's pretty easy today. Wouldn't put too much stock in it:laugh:

He's been putting up points and towing his team every game. Considering the circumstances of being shorthanded the whole tournament it just makes it that much more impressive.

It is very unlikely that Germany would win, but Bugl looks good and with a top line capable of producing 2-3 goals against a top nation anything is possible.

We'll see, 2003 looks quite weak, too. Some hope for 2004 and 2005. The main difference today is Stützle and Peterka. The rest looks quite equal.

Still think you should be good enough to stay in the top division even though the 2002/2003 team won`t be the strongest, right?

Sweden has been the most consistent team so far...at least in my view. And I'd be looking to avoid the Slovaks instead. Superior goaltending. They were really poor in the exhibition game and vs Germany but they've played very well vs Switzerland and mostly vs Canada. What you're seeing now is about what you can expect from Germany. Shouldn't be a problem for Sweden.

Laf had the support of a much bette4 team though. Stutzle is doing this pretty much on his own.
That's a bit of a disservice to Peterka who has also been unreal. Also as like the only 2 players on Germany with real NHL top six upside they also get the lion's share of the minutes and offensive opportunities, something Lafreniere had to share as part of such a good team.
