Sid is (in my perception) the best player in the world.

Big Sid fan and maybe still a top 10 player in the game but just curious what makes you think he's the best? He'd have to be selke winner good defensively to come close to making up for how much more offense guys like McDavid and Mackinnon generate than him.

Well to be fair they had no chemistry really. Marner doesn't really fit that spot.

Canada sort of lacks a great from distance snipe. Both would create a ton of space for that person. Reinheart is a good goal scorer but is mostly good in tight and off deflections. The things is, I'm not really sure how you re-adjust the lines to optimize each player. Marner has played well with MacKinnon before at the 2016 worlds, and they could put Crosby with McDavid, but they seem to want to roll MacKinnon/Crosby together.

They lost a point by letting it get to OT.

I'd say Hagel or Point is who I would put there. Need a bull dog to fight for loose pucks

I don't think Cooper separates Hagel and Cirelli, they make each other better. Point can keep up with McDavid skating wise and in transition and is also a great finisher.

I thought Dahlin was Sweden's worst defender all night. He can skate though, and when OT goes that long probably should have seen the ice.

I thought he was the best Swedish defender in his own zone this game. He's the only Sabres player in this game so I was focused on him. He was forcing his guy wide on the rush, and keeping tight coverage preventing a cross ice pass all game. I'm not sure he had a defensive gaffe.

He was on the ice for a goal against, but his guy was covered. It was Nylander and Zibanejad who failed to cover the trailer.

Massively disappointing performance for me. Marner scored the OT goal but didn’t look like he gelled on that line. I thought Points line was arguably our best at 5v5. The team overall played with a lack of chemistry but that’s to be expected . I honestly think it’s harder for superstars to gel with each other than 2nd line players

Mack is a top player, but man was he a puck hog lol. Just tunnel vision in OT

Not anymore obviously but he's still absolutely elite, no doubt about that. Even in his prime he was more subtle in his game than guys like MacKinnon or Mcdavid, but his hockey smarts are second to none.
