Mack in OT kinda scares me. He tends to make low percentage shot that will end into opponent possession. IMO not the best IQ in OT. I wanted more of Mack, McDavid and Makar but as you said he always kept the puck.

True. Sid and Marchand aren't going to be around for much longer. The league has always been inferior to the OHL and WHL. The last decade has been very underwhelming for their standards. There wasn't a single player selected in the first round in last year's draft (it might even be the first two)

Mackinnon trying to do it all on his own with freakin McDavid and Makar out there skating in circles. Dude is talented but only knows "skate fast, shoot puck".

Other than the goal I thought he was nowhere near as good as he normally is.

Other players may have better speed, or a better shot, but Crosby is the smartest player in the game, and when the chips are down, still the one guy I'd choose to lead my team.

Honestly Sweden looked better to my eye. Any time you have 2 teams filled with high-end NHL guys, in a one off game it can go either way, even if one team's top end is better.

Canada really didn't create enough offense after the first 10 minutes. They barely had 10 shots in the last 50 minutes. They need to change up the lines and look for a spark.

I was worried it was going to be like an all-star game and I can say I am very pleased with the hockey and am looking forward to every game in this tourney now.

I love the fact that 18-19 years ago, I was not a fan of Crosby - thought he was a whiner and while talented, would become one of those players I would grow to not root for. All these years later, watching him mature in the game, perform at a high level, become a respected leader, and a great ambassador of the game and seven Crosby jerseys later, I had tears in my eyes when he was named first star/player of the game.

What a game. You will never, ever, ever see this level of excitement from any recent (or any historical) all star game. I hope they keep this tournament going forward in future years.

He was not invisible. But he did not convert his speed into good plays. To me it looked like he is not used to play with so much skill around

Oilers are pretty skilled at least at forward. Don't think he makes the smart play. Just look at what Crosby did to win the game, pushed in to the zone then fired the puck back to Marner just a high IQ play. McDavid has the skills an skating but lacks the high end IQ.

Lines were fine. Konecny looked out of position a few times so maybe swap him for Bennett but anyone talking about bad lines/coaching..lol. First game together, what did you expect. You could see the strengths in each trio, even if it was brief. Binnington made a couple big saves but overall he didn't look great, so I would also be fine with Hill getting a look next game.

I said before that I wouldn't take him. I said before that I'd put him in the bottom six if he's in the lineup. I said before that he hadn't scored in the clutch and that was the basis for my beliefs.

And tonight he scored a clutch goal when we badly needed it. So all credit to him.

I still don't have much faith in him. I still wouldn't have him in the top six. But it doesn't matter. I hope he continues to score because I want Canada to win. Nothing would make me happier than seeing him score a hat trick every night and have Canada win the tournament.

In terms of elite finishers close to the goal it's probably Point but he plays a very different style than Hyman
