How would this change the team? Can they take in for example Johansson from Leksand?

Do you guys think this means that Ragnarsson will take the last spot and Broberg is the one going home? I've personally never seen Broberg play and the few times I've seen Ragnarsson he's been all right. My gut feeling right now says it can be close between these two and I can see either of them play the opening night.
I see Broberg as a Liljegren replacement in the top 4, if it turns out Liljegren will be out, so nothing should change for Ragnarsson, should still be competing for 3rd pairing/7D.

Broberg is better then Ragnarsson trust me. Broberg will probably take Liljegrens place or an third pair spot.

Okay, interesting! In that case I'm real excited to see Broberg play. I know he's rated high for the upcoming draft but I thought that maybe players like Axel Andersson, Victor Berglund and Simon Johansson were "rated higher" in Monténs eyes. And on top of that; those 3 are top 4 type of players in my opinion.

Broberg plays a high risk game though, Ragnarsson is a safer type player which would round out the top 6 better. I don’t know if throwing Broberg into this tourney would be best for Sweden when they already have offensively capable defenseman. I don’t really like Ragnarsson’s game this year but I’d guess he makes it over Broberg

Eh, I'd only add in Ragnarsson over Broberg if you replace Lilly with Lundkvist in the top 4(I'd rather have Broberg over Lundkvist in the top 4, and have Lundkvist on the bottom pairing with Ginning), making the bottom pairing a purely shutdown focused pairing with Ginning & Ragnarsson.

After watching Broberg dominate in the U18, I was actually surprised that he didn’t get a camp invite. Glad to see him added to the mix now.

no, there is still hope!

I wanted him at the WJC to show his dominance at the U20 level, now that he's in a top pairing role.

However, it would not be in Liljegren's best interest (or Toronto's) to release him to Sweden given the player has a high ankle sprain. Chances are he would not be recovered to near 100% yet (unless it is a grade one sprain, but that wouldn't be classified as "week to week" 7 days after the injury), and the chance of re-aggravating the injury and causing long term ankle instability will be high.

Broberg also isn't good enough to play big minutes at the WJC. Should've added Soderstrom, if they wanted someone who can fill a bigger role.

Despite his youth, it seems to me that Broberg has all the tools to be a solid contributor to the team. I think I’d rather have a young talented kid than a more experienced but lower quality dman.

To each their own. I don’t think he’s the caliber of first year draft eligible prospect that’s good enough to have a big impact at the WJC for a team hoping to win the title.

To each their own, indeed. I’ve seen this guy in one tournament and he was outstanding. Small sample size, but nevertheless I’ve seen nothing to indicate he can’t do the job at the WJC.

The three goalies on Sweden's preliminary roster all played in Allsvenskan yesterday...

Eriksson Ek - 22 saves on 24 shots as Karlskoga won 3-2 in overtime.
Åhman - 15 saves on 18 shots as Oskarshamn won 5-3 (some trivia: the opposing goalie was Erik Källgren, a 2015 Arizona draft pick who used to play for Oskarshamn)
Ersson - 34 saves on 38 shots as Västerås won 5-4 in overtime.

I mean I agree adding Söderström would be good, as he can eat big minutes and is great defensively(and some pages back you can see me wanting him to get invited), but I do think people underevaluate Broberg on these forums. Think he'd be good with Sandin as his partner on the 2nd pairing.
