Will be on a 2nd/3rd line and likely get some time on the 2nd PP unit. Perhaps some PK as well. I don't expect him to be a key player this year.
Seems like that usage would suggest otherwise. Players make themselves key players, Hallander, from all accounts, is a guy that has a way of standing out.

How good is Olofsson in that 2nd line center spot?

I'm expecting some changes to be made before the tournament starts; since Höglander is the youngest forward on the team he might get cut from the final roster. While I think Olofsson might end up not centering the second line, I feel that he's a safe bet to make the team.

Kitchener Rangers fan here. How has Hugg been thus far in camp?

I've not seen much of Kitchener this year so I can't speak of Hugg's game as well as you, but boy he must be impressing if he's ahead of Elvenes on the depth chart. Or Elvenes is playing really poorly. I expected Elvenes and Lundestrom to be the offensive leaders amongst the forwards. Still could be though I suppose.

What makes you say Hugg is ahead of Elvenes on the depth chart?

I think he saw the practice lineups where Hugg was on a long with Bemström, & Holmberg above Höglander, Olofsson, & Elvenes.

Montén om Boqvist: "Då kan han gå fullt ut"
Boqvist is a game-time decision, if he isn't able to play vs. Russia he gets another day off tomorrow(along with the rest of the team) and is expected to be 100% again the 20th.

Yeah, I would hardly label those practice lines as the depth chart.

Loving that 2nd D pairing =)

Boqvist and Ginning are probably the intended second pairing.
I have hopes that Sandin-Broberg pairing is the intended second pairing, I see Westerlund as a Boqvist replacement for Brännström until he's back.

Anyways, the Swedish goals, and assists, vs. Russia per @DahlbergTobias on twitter:

1-1: Brännström
2-1: Fagemo(Elvenes, Brännström)
3-2: Bemström(Broberg, Sandin)
4-2: Södergran(Gustafsson)
OT: Olofsson(Elvenes, Lundkvist)

Eriksson-Ek's suspension is a farce, but we already knew that. Players remove their medals from their necks before they leave the ice, basically every tournament. But because Elias Andersson flipped out and threw his medal up the stands, the IIHF got furious and handed out suspensions left and right.

If they would be consistent with suspending players for taking off medals before leaving the ice, sure, but they're not. Not even close. I guess they don't have the balls to suspend anyone else.

I still don't understand why it's such a big deal. I finished 2nd in the national rugby championships 4 years in a row. The 3rd and 4th year I didn't really care. Took them off immediately after, just like a lot of teammates. I gave those last 2 nmedals away to my mom and grandma. It's not as if the Swedish players refused their medals. Suspensions are ridiculous. They suspended Dahlin and Lias despite neither of them playing this year anyway

The final roster will consist of 23 players, no? When are the last cuts being made?

Last year it seems the cuts were made only the day before the start of the tournament. Is it the same this year, so on the 25th?

They will probably not fly anyone to Sweden until they know who's healthy for the tournament. The 25th would be a good bet.

I wish Canada had a goalie suspended for a game. It would force them to bring 3 goalies, always annoys me that they never do.
