What are the chances of Sodergran, Sveningsson, and Fagemo chances of making team? Where would they slot if they did?
Based on Monténs interview after the press conference I would say Fagemos chances are more than likely. When asked about which player to keep an extra eye on he of course said "all of them", but then went on about how he likes Fagemo and the type of game he brings to the team.

I would probably take all three. Would surprise me if Södergran or Fagemo got cut, Sveningsson is on the bubble.

Sarnia fan here. Leufvenius had a really good year for us last year. His play transitioned well and he was arguably one of if not our best player in the playoffs last year. He has been red hot for us so far this year and leads our team in points. He had a 10 game goal streak recently and was 3/3 for face offs last Friday (Nov 30)

is he physical?

Easily the biggest omission.

I am pleasantly surprised that Monten pet Simon Johansson isn't on the team. Ragnarsson is insurance in case Liljegren can't go, but is going to be an easy cut otherwise.

i dont think ginning is better than ragnarsson.

Brännström - Liljegren
Sandin - Westerlund
Lundqvist - Boqvist
Ragnarsson

Svenningsson - Lundeström - Elvenes
Hållander - Olofsson - Bemström
Fagemo - Holmberg - Zetterlund
Leufvenius - Hugg - Södergran
Höglander

Can someone tell me more about Ginning?

He looks like a coach favorite everywhere he went but most people here don’t want him on the team. What is so flawed in his game? Moving the puck? First pass? Hagg 2.0?

His best tool is his size. He's also fairly mobile. You don't want him to do anything more than just chip the puck out when he gets possession in the D-zone. Doesn't have the hands or vision to do much more. Watching Söderström outplaying him right now.

Probably liked Hägg a little more at the same age but wasn't a big fan of his game either. They have some similarities.

This D core needed D man that is a little bit bigger and can play tough. Thats why Ginning got selected.

Then you think...very wrong. All the stats proves the opposite and there is a reason why Ginning plays in SHL and Ragnarsson in Hockeyallsvenskan.

Yeah, because that's where his team is. The Swedish hockey system is not like the NHL, with a major league, and then a lower league affiliate. The SHL is a relegation system, if your team isn't good enough, you get relegated and play in the lower league. You can't call someone up/send them down b/t leagues.

I can't speak to the stats b/c i haven't looked at them. But to say Ragnarsson is an inferior player solely b/c of the league he's in, without that context, it's pretty silly.

I now how the Swedish hockey system works, the team i follow is Modo, in HA (hockeyallsvenskan).

What lol, don't you understand what i meant? Okey, lets put it like this. There is a reason why Zac Dalpe plays in AHL and Taylor Hall in NHL. Do you understand now what i meant by writing , there is a reason why Ginning plays in SHL and Ragnarsson in Hockeyallsvenskan? Probably not when you have not checked their stats...

Yes, Talent. Namely, Hall has more. However, NHL teams have affiliation agreements with their AHL teams. This means that teams in the upper league can send players down to the lower league, or call them up. The SHL does not have affiliation agreements with the Allsvenskan, so they cannot do that. The NHL and AHL are affiliated leagues, but the teams are not in direct competition. In contrast, Allsvenskan teams can be promoted to the SHL, and SHL teams relegated to the Allsvenskan. When this happens, the teams are in direct competition. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to say that players in the Allsvenskan are automatically worse than those in the SHL, just that teams probably are. And because a good Allsvenskan team can play its way into the SHL, while a bad SHL team can lose its way out, it is possible for an Allsvenskan team to be better than an SHL one.

Were there affiliation agreements between SHL and Allsvenskan teams, permitting player transfers, the situation would be different. However, to my knowledge that is not the case. To say therefore that Ragnarsson is automatically worse and Ginning is automatically better, simply due to the league they're in, is just not a logical way to approach it.

Also, Ginning has a grand total of 2 more points in 8 more games played, which, in the scheme of things, is not a huge difference. I have no stake in the debate, and honestly have no idea which player is better. I just think league is a poor way of determining which player is better. See the NY Rangers, where players like Tanner Glass and Cody McLeod have played while guys Filip Chytil and Pavel Buchnevich have been scratched or played in the AHL.

ragnarsson had offers from shl, but he decided to stay a year in allvenskan.

I think it is a good place for a junior to develop, more ice time and less media focus.
