Probably. It's not about bad luck either, he's making defensive mistakes all over the ice. -23 in past 20 games.

Oh, well in that case:
MIN - Ryan Suter + 50% retained
DAL - Jordie Benn
I love this double standard HF has for players.
I guess plus minus only matters for players like Ovechkin and Karlsson.
He doesn't have to play half a game to earn his money. It's very rare for guys to play that many minutes. The only thing this will do is wear him down and assure an early retirement. He needs a good supporting cast that are SHARING minutes with him. And Yeo is the one who determines how much time he gets. He's the one that keeps throwing him out on the PP for 90 seconds. I'm sure he does want to play, but it can't be much fun right nowIt was an ove.rreaction so I changed the title. Still though with everything that has happened to him this season but you gotta keep playing to earn that money. I wonder does he even want to play hockey atm? You would think Yeo could give him some rest but there he is playing 30min per game.
Do both those teams have goaltending that is terrible like the Wild have right now?
No, they dont. Karlsson doesnt play d well. Suter does. Ovechkin has a history of not backchecking hard and floating in.
Holy hell, you also do realize plus minus is not black and white right? Suter has a bad plus minus for numerous reasons, bad goaltending is one of the biggest ones.
I point you to Shea Weber to use him as another example of a really really good dman that had his plus minus screwed up by bad goaltending last year.

Using +/- to evaluate a minute muncher on a struggling team is totally short-sighted.
The season Karlsson was established as a "bad" dman in the HF boards hive mind was his 20 year old sophomore where he went -30.
In that season
Alfredsson : -19
Fisher : -19 in 55 games
Kuba: -26 >>> next season plus 26 playing with Karlsson.
Phillips : -35
Kelly:-12
The goalie? 3.19 gaa and a .894 save
But no one actually looked at that lol, they just extrapolated that he was a bad defenceman.
Obviously Suter is not a bad dman , and neither is Karlsson.
Yet the HF hive mind would disagree.
I'm not only using that, i'm also watching the games but i just put it there to show how bad things have been going for him. For a top-5 defenseman those numbers are brutal. He just doesn't seem like he is enjoying the game at all.

Is this a problem? I love the fact that his team and him especially are struggling. Keep it up boys.
