Concussion symptoms can appear multiple days after the incident not surprised.

That being said I don’t bad for Pionk. Or really care about his well being one way or another. Lost it after he tried to take that shot at Marner last year.

I've been wondering the same thing, if his suspension starts after his injury.

If not it's pretty cheap that the Jets can just put him in the concussion protocol or IR later on and then have his suspension time be served by a time he was out anyway with injury

Concussions are scary, while Pionk is a dirty piece of shit himself this all could've been avoided with competent officiating. Again, all these injuries/suspensions are directly because of the terrible officiating. Call the game the right way and plays like this don't happen and guys don't get hurt. Hopefully it's nothing life altering, it was a scary looking hit but the NHL needs to get their shit together. Make a f***ing call when a player commits an infraction so that tempers don't flare like this, reach a boiling point and you have guys with serious injuries.

As if Pionk didn't get away with multiple penalties and then try to take out Sandins knee. Not to mention him attempting to hit Marner in the head last game after he scored the empty netter. As if PLD wasn't playing like a dirty POS the entire game. When the Jets start all the dirty shit their fans are dead silent, when there is a response they want to cry and point fingers. If you want to blame anyone, blame the refs, if they make those calls on PLD and Pionk, none of the retaliation even happens. That fan base amazes me.

Putting him on concussion protocol after the game shows that it was dangerous/incompetent of their management to keep him in the game. Especially given how violent and out of control the rest of the game was. It's not a good look.
