I kind of went off on one of my professors who clearly lost sight of the fact that many of us in class work full time and also have other shit going on and aren't 20 year old undergrads. Quitting my job or withdrawing is not an option.

The amount of homework this guy is piling on is literally starting to kill me. I should not be made to feel guilty about spending a few hours with friends or even cleaning my apartment. I've tried a number of things and I simply can not be up until 2am every damn night. That will send me over the edge.

I'm not looking for sympathy or to be treated like I am dumb, lazy and can't hack it. I just need him to recognize that not all of us are in a position to ignore everything else in our lives and only focus on his class.
good for you for standing your ground. Task completion and workload do not determine the value of accomplishment. Lately I've been exploring the realm of "hustle culture" and how it depletes us terribly. Our self worth ends up determined by our task checklist. Makes it impossible to invest in the things we care about most. I think it definitely starts during schooling right up to college/continuing ed. Shame on that guy.

Just got back from 3 nights in Montreal, ate, swam a lot, walked a lot, some highlights:

Tried to sample some local food: Dunn’s, Modavie ( dinner and brunch), Cafe at Crapes.

Hotel Bomaventure was great with kids as they have an outdoor heated pool

I was really surprised that probably 75% of our hotel were Quebecois. I guess they like to keep it local for overnight travel.

We got a museum passport and went to the bio dome, botanical gardens, and planetarium for like $100 CAD that is good until next year

Mount Royal is a good urban hike

When I returned to school after a 7 year absence I was very thankful that the professors of the night class division well understood that we were different from day students- we all had full time job & many had families as well. There was no way we could handle the load that day students had, they knew it & tailored their classes accordingly. While there was quite a bit of reading involved the other stuff (homework, papers, projects) was kept to an absolute minimum.

They have an approved curriculum, how much room do they have?

Oh it went right over his head and he went on and on about how the dean of the program created the course. I'll be sure to make sure she knows that the course needs to be adapted if it is going to be taught online and during evening classes.

I'll figure it out but for the first time since I've been back in school I have never wanted to just up and quit.

What do you mean? :dunno:
Just wondering,if they have a course to teach,it's usually all laid out already, how much space do they have to complete the course? My daughter is a Grad student working 2 jobs, one fulltime,I see how hard it is.

It was a regular semester, just like the day students. As I said the biggest difference was the lack of papers, projects. Plenty of quizzes & tests, just like any other college class. Exception was astronomy, there was a lab required but even that wasn't too bad. And this was a community college.

A legend. For recent generations, she is known for "Murder, She Wrote", but she is must-see in "The Manchurian Candidate".

She should have won the Academy Award for her performance.

We hiked up years ago. The weather difference was pretty wild.

yeah, there were some that made it to the top Sunday and they looked like they shouldnt have. Even with crampons and heavy duty gear. Some were inquiring if there was any room on cog going back down. All seats were sold out. They advised maybe able to ride outside on platform if an emergency.
Down below they were advising most to not go above 4000 feet. The tree line.

Im glad I experienced it though this time of year. This weekend is last for year cog goes all the way to top. I can see why.
