Woke up to the news that a very close friend died suddenly.

View attachment 592073View attachment 592074

He was a Bruins season ticket holder and one year he was so angry about a price increase he sent a check and instead of writing Boston Bruins he wrote 'King Jeremy The Wicked. (they still cashed the check)

His wife died of cancer last year and he never recovered from that.

Marc was only 51

I am beyond gutted right now.

I am so very sorry Kevin.

I was friends with Marc for 30 years and he loved Fenway Park and had season tickets in the bleachers for several years.

For years he had a tradition - he would throw out his Christmas Tree on Red Sox Opening Day.
😂

He actually won a car ( a Mitsubishi ) from the Red Sox at a Fan Appreciation Day some 20/25 years ago

He may have been the only person that I knew who loved the old Foxboro Stadium and he even bought one of the aluminum benches when the stadium was demolished in 2002.

He was also a Bruins STH for several years and one year after a price increase he wrote the Bruins a check but instead of pay to the order of the Boston Bruins he wrote 'King Jeremy the Wicked' - The check was still cashed.

Several years ago I told him we needed to drive to Philly to see a dying friend and he agreed and we left Boston at 6 AM and got back at 10 PM. I told him before we went to the hospital we needed to find a Wawa and get our friend coffee and Tastykakes and he muttered 'whatever'.

When we got to the hospital the nurse said I doubt he will be responsive but we entered the room and Marc yelled at him and our friend immediately was wide awake. The Tastykakes were devoured.

The last time I saw him was back in January when he told me we were going to breakfast the next morning as it was the final day of Steve's Kitchen in Allston.

If you were a friend of Marc he would show you unconditional love - I honestly can say I don't think anybody disliked him.

When his beloved Amelie passed away last year from cancer it broke his heart and honestly his spirit as well.

I am simply heartbroken over his death.

thank you, grateful I have all vax and boosters cuz if I feel this bad with all of those, can`t even imagine what it was like for those who chose not to vax
I had mild symptoms,as did the rest of my family, treated with ivermectin on day 1 of symptoms mainly. No vaccine.

New PayPal rule: The company can take $2,500 from your account for sharing misinformation

Just an FYI for those of us who use PayPal
If anything we say online is considered "Misinformation" or "hate speech" by them we can be fined $2500
I just closed my account.

Please read the article if you use PayPal or still have an account open.
I canceled,they also own Venmo,I think.

So sorry. Being older I try to remember the good. Looking at those pants in the 2nd picture and the check story, there just had to be a lot of good to remember.

That is unreal...

That added an update on Saturday with an apology saying it was an error but the message is still in their "user agreement"
It's getting pretty scary out there. I know credit card companies and online payment processors will ban political groups they view as extreme, which is one thing, but to threaten to fine individuals $2500 for having an unorthodox opinion is some 1984 shit.

They had thousands of folks like me cancel. Who the hell are they to be the determinator of misinformation? Just like FB and Twitter.

Visa and Mastercard already have exercised the power to not process payments for things they deem immoral. Paypal just following their lead.

The first article I linked said the FCC Commissioner described this PayPal incident as "Orwellian"

49 now and a bit of showery rain this AM;

Mt. Washington was wild.
At base 54 degrees and sunny.
As we neared summit snow & ice.
17 degrees. 75 mph gusts. -7 degrees wind chill. Crazy.total whiteout like a blizzard wind.

I kind of went off on one of my professors who clearly lost sight of the fact that many of us in class work full time and also have other shit going on and aren't 20 year old undergrads. Quitting my job or withdrawing is not an option.

The amount of homework this guy is piling on is literally starting to kill me. I should not be made to feel guilty about spending a few hours with friends or even cleaning my apartment. I've tried a number of things and I simply can not be up until 2am every damn night. That will send me over the edge.

I'm not looking for sympathy or to be treated like I am dumb, lazy and can't hack it. I just need him to recognize that not all of us are in a position to ignore everything else in our lives and only focus on his class.
