Pierre LeBrun has an interesting tweet about Nathan Horton. "Nathan Horton visiting an NHL team/city today. He'll end up with a non-traditional hockey market I think. Wants a quieter life."

RT @BOMO_SAPIEN: @aportzline am I missing something? Why isn't Horton discussed as a fit in Cbus? / Reportedly wants to play in warm city.

Did I mention ryan murray? Trading murray is not cool with me.

I'd give up a 1st + kerby or another 1st round prospect, plus a roster player but not murray. Could also give them dansk. I think a trade could be done w out including murray.

Kerby stays. He's become my favorite prospect in a short period of time. He stays.

Lots of rumors floating out there that Horton is visiting with the CBJ. Would be a good fit for him if he doesn't want to play in a traditional hockey market.

No one with the Jackets nor with his camp will confirm this, but I believe Nathan Horton's site visit today was in Columbus...

CBJ might be making a pitch, and they should be, but I gotta believe he ends up in Tampa, Florida or Dallas. Additionally, it was reported he's seeking $5-6 mil for 5-6 years. A bit rich for my blood, given his history with concussions, but his play probably puts him there, and I figure someone will pay it.

My only concern is it seems like his scoring is possibly leveling out if not falling a bit. Obviously Horton and Vinny aren't even the same mold as players and they do lots of different things on the ice, but if you're going on pure goal scoring alone, I just don't know if that feasible 3-4 Mill more it would take is worth the few extra points that he may or may not drum up. If you guys hate Umbys contract....whew! Imagine how you would feel about one with another Mil or 2 tacked on.

Yeah, that's too much for that player. $5m I could live with. $6m is stupid money.

I would like to have Horton, because I think he is the best FA available for what we need. I don't want to give him what he wants in length of contract. I don't mind the money that much, because we have enough to pay him.

Even if Horton signs elsewhere it's encouraging to see Jarmo get one of the top FA available's first visit. Hopefully this is a trend that continues in the future.

His salary was 5.5M last year, his cap hit was 4M. If he is our top target, I wouldn't be shocked to see him get paid up to 6M. Not advocating that, but I would think it has to be on the table. If Jarmo could swing a trade, he might still be able to get Horton, sign Vinny and make everyone happy.

Vinny is gone if we get Horton
