So Bizzare that Vandenberg is starting tonight for Niagara if in fact there is a deal in place..
Seems like maybe a crazy game of chicken is going on which involving Niagara currently doesn't surprise me..

Risky business

I for one, can’t see them replacing Vondras unless he really stumbles bad. Also, for as much as I like beer, if it’s that cheap wolves draft, they can keep it, that is, if there is still any left after the first.

Vondras will tandem with new goalie

Am I missing something? Why would Sudbury see Niagara's backup goalie as a solution? Is he even better then Krawchuk, nevermind Vondras?

It’s a pretty even split between two solid 19 yr olds with the hotter hand playing 2/3. Right now, that’s Vandenberg. A few weeks ago Vandenberg struggled, so Flores got 4/6 starts.
I did not fact check that, but it’s fairly accurate.

Just catching up on the forum and want to give my 2 cents;

I love the 5$ beer. I hate the "Emergency Announcement". Complete BS move from the PR staff in Sudbury.

I also don't care about this trade. The guy might do well in the lower league but doubt he gets much playing time here. Seems like a camp body or something.

On to the post that @Sleemans99 wrote up regarding the in-stadium experience at the Barn; I disagree.

I think, for 20$, a Sudbury Wolves game is the most fun way to spend a Friday night in Sudbury and there really isn't any other competition. I do agree that the American Flag is a bit of an odd choice for the graphics, but the videos for the different players are fun and a way to get the audience engaged.

If you're not yelling "Go Wolves Go" each time it comes up on the board, you're not a fan imo.

I’m not concerned about the potential cost the conditional 15th pick may turn into. I’m wondering how many cards the wolves have used up.
Has anyone counted?

Most likely he'll only be called up as an affiliated player - 10 games max

I don't get it, I don't see either Niagara goalie being better than Vondras or Krawchuk. Just seems like lighting cards on fire for very marginal improvements at best. But i'd loved to be proved wrong.

It will require burning a card to acquire a goalie that several on this board have been screaming to get (now). I don’t know of better options than the Niagara goalies unless willing to pay what might be considered extortion for DiVincentiis and his 3.78 GAA & 0.875 SV%.

I haven’t been able to catch too many wolves games, but is Vondras letting in weak goals on a consistent basis? If he is, certainly go and address the position. If it’s grade A chances or PP goals or etc that are going in, there should be a few other places to go first.

I'm in the same boat, really baffles me why Niagara of all teams is the pick of the crop for goalies when Sudbury's current tandem sports far better stats

Stats aside, he is still a Team Canada invite so he's got something...

DiVincentiis has been in a funk for 5-6 weeks, he does not have the rebound control he exhibited previously.

I am not pinning the wolves issues on goalies, particularly one in his first year playing in NA.
But if looking for an upgrade, the IceDogs goalies are that imo, and probably the best available.

I am curious what the value Dom will bring in depending on whether he makes the Team Canada roster or not, IF NB opts to trade him

Unless DiVincentiis is a 1st team all-star at the tournament, the cost won’t be that of Campbell or DiPietro, but would approach the next best I think.
I also think NB only trades DiVincentiis for an amount that could be used to improve their playoff chances this season.

Wow! I'm not sure how I feel about this.

We'll see how it goes!

it is an upgrade especially from Krawchuk. Krawchuk had more enough chances to make organization not look for another goalie. Vandeberg can play also as a OA next year, i thought price was steep, but not many organizations are ready to trade their goalies at this point.
