You’re right, it was not the topic; you changed the narrative of politics or possibly small market affecting team Canada selections to one of delusion comparing SSM to London.
And without fact checking, I believe SSM has twice missed the playoffs and twice eliminated in round two over four seasons.
Small markets like Peterborough, North Bay, and the Soo that have had very high levels of success recently tend to get more players on the junior team. That's right in line with the discussion.

Take the Greyhounds out of the discussion if you are unwilling or unable to be objective (11 Team Canada Junior players in 8 years with this roster). The point still stands. The fact that these teams consistently get 'surprise' invitations tells you what the Hockey Canada brass thinks.

Politics Dude, a post citing politics as a reason Goyette was not selected is what I replied to.
Goyette’s exclusion has very little to do with the hounds mediocrity of late.
But since SSM, NB, Peterborough all small markets all had a player invited; I doubted there was an anti-Sudbury conspiracy.

Nothing funny about $5 beer. I might have a couple rather than nearly $5 coffee
Sorry dirty and others who think they might do the same, if you buy it you are only encouraging to pull this and similar stunts.

I try not to rant about "Game Experience" too much on this site because I am old and dont want to be the guy yelling get off my lawn, however I want to get a couple of things off my chest now.

I have been going to OHL games since the late 70s in Kitchener. I like going to the games. I like hockey.I like to talk to people at the game about the game or just things in general. I have lived in 4 OHL cities and have seen games in just about every rink and some rinks that arent in the league anymore. Even during the worst of the Burgess years I went to games even if it was just to see the talent on the other teams. This is likely the biggest insult I have seen to a teams fans. It is unprofessional and not worthy of a serious organization.

Do you know what else can go. The american Eagle and In Must we trust, Mr Shortside, thie winking David Goyette and whatever the one was they introduced last night. Do you know who doesnt do crap like that. Well run organizations that win because they dont have to do childish things to draw attention to themselves.

Also if you are going to run a public service video before the game like last night, Have your video people test run it first in a empty building to see if it is intelligible. If not why bother. I have no idea what that was about except if something about seniors and the united way.

Lastly I will say the music is better than it has been in past years, however I dont need the PA announce yelling at me to make noise every 5 minutes or so. And dont get me started on the attempts at karaoke. Sweet Caroline is way too original and take me home country roads is just so Canadian and or Sudbury. If you want to do it, find something Canadian and or original. What took off in Colorado was because it grew organically and not driven by some screaming PA man.

My rant is over. I will still go to games because I like hockey. My only form of protest I now have is to not buy the Christmas presents I normally do at the team shop and no concessions for this year. something tells me I wont miss it.

Those $5 beers are tempting, show me another arena in the OHL that sells them that cheap

Sudbury needs a new arena. They are stuck in old ways of running things, in one of the oldest barns in the league..hopefully council actually does something with all this land they're expropriating to potentially build a new arena and not build another $100 million art gallery

Glad if I helped in any way for you to get that out of your system; seriously, no joke.

Also on a serious note, I like cold beer at times; I especially like it at a discounted price.

If I were a GM picking between the two I'd take Vandenberg.
That said Flores has had some pretty brilliant outings on a pretty bad team over the last couple seasons. I think Vandenberg is more consistant.
But Flores has played more games. Interesting. Vandenberg highlights, challenges shooters. I see some risky goaltending, athletic. Stay tuned.

As a former goalie who played I think several teams in the OhL has poor management of goalies since Covid and probably before.
In Finland goalies are treated as a specialty position with daily goalie coaching, mindset work, money invested.
I don’t know what happens in Sudbury but I know lots of teams in the O don’t even have full-time goalie coaches or regular training.
How do you expect these kids (yes kids) to carry teams if you don’t invest in them. Look at the performance of some of the 03 04 goalies this year, great goalies but they need to be treated as a specialty position and coached as such not just shooter tooters as many teams do.
Also overseas they develop good young goalies within orgs. Miss is proving that this can work. Take a young kid work with him rather than bring in a one and done. Krawchuk could have been a solid starter this year if he was given the chance to develop ratherr than bring in Brassard to patch that mess over.. Such excessively bad decision making between the pipes and it isn’t just in Sudbury
Amen. They delayed Chucky’s development with one of Papineau’s worse decisions and he’s made a few.. Complete long shot that reeked of desperation.

I can't help but laugh at how you slip a lie into every post. It's so childish.

I'm glad that you now agree with my take, however.

I'm concerned with our goaltending like many of you. If my math is correct, we have 6 games left before the Christmas break.

I think if Vondras is given the start, he needs to finish this stretch with at least 4 really good games for my faith in him to come back.

I've been a Chucky fan since last year, and really thought he had the potential to be our starter this year If Vondras struggles, where do we go from here? I've done some digging and here are my favourite Goalies around the league that we might be able to deal. Let me know what you think.

- Damien Slavik - Guelph Storm

- One of the two goalies from Ottawa - Collin MacKenzie or Max Donoso

- Charlie Schenkel - Sault Greyhounds

I think we would have to trade something significant for any of these guys but what else can we do? You dont want to bring in someone worse than Vondras and look silly
You mean like last year!

I am starting to think there are people on this board who actually WANT the Wolves to play bad, just so they have something to complain about. They tie the game, and the first comment I see is someone whining about how they didn't deserve it. LOL
You’re right there have always been way more posts after a lost than a win, especially by certain posters

Very happy for the boys to get a point out of nothing. I'll chalk it up to being "just one of those days."

It has also become glaringly obvious how important Musty is to this team. This team will go as far as Musty and Goyette will take them.
I highly doubt most teams could get by missing five of their top players against a good team. I was surprised by the negativity considering.

So Bizzare that Vandenberg is starting tonight for Niagara if in fact there is a deal in place..
Seems like maybe a crazy game of chicken is going on which involving Niagara currently doesn't surprise me..

Was the rumour Vandenberg, or an IceDogs goalie?

5$ Beer... which they'd already announced at the game on Wednesday.

"emergency"

Congrats to the alcoholics who stand up every 3 plays to go buy a beer.
Is there any substance to the goalie rumour .. or is this just fueled by beer...?
I for one, can’t see them replacing Vondras unless he really stumbles bad. Also, for as much as I like beer, if it’s that cheap wolves draft, they can keep it, that is, if there is still any left after the first.
