Read this article from Sudbury Star and cut out the winning Silver Stick Coach’s approach for his U10 team. While reading this I had two thoughts: Impressive for U10 players to buy in and play this style. Second, this is what is missing from the Wolves.

Can anyone explain how Fimis got OHL player of the week with 7 points in 3 games when Musty got 9 in 3 ? Are the Wolves not part of the OHL ?
Even in their weekly wrap-ups, they generally don't get mentions for performance.

No Goyette for team Canada camp either. Wolves still going to be hit hard by losing Dvorski, but if this team is going to be a factor this year, they should be able to compete without Dvorski.

Canada hockey staff believe Allard, Beck, Ludwinski might give Canada a better chance to win than Goyette would.
Maybe those on this board less than impressed with Goyette’s defense and physical involvement are not bashing the kid, rather just an honest observation that Goyette is far from a complete hockey player.

That makes you feel better about criticizing him all the time ? Good on you.
You act like he's the only player taking criticism in this thread. You have to be related to him at this point. He's a great player, but if you don't think he's flawed and has things to work on, you're drinking the kool-aid.

Musty, McCallum, Pharand, Vondras, Coughlan, Yearwood, Konyen, Toure, Mania all take criticism in this thread.

to me not having Goyette and Musty play for their country looks very bad on the Wolves. But what do I know

Both Musty and Goyette are potentially great players with a solid opportunity at pro careers. Don't think for a second that they were not under a microscope for an invite to their WJC teams. Perhaps body language, shift length, stick slapping , lack of tracking back, untimely changes, lack of discipline etc. had an impact on their non selection.

Or it could be much simpler then that. Take off the tinfoil hat, Both Goyette and Musty are top 6 role players for Team Canada and Team USA respectively. They're not guys who they would consider putting lower in the lineup. Neither was good enough to crack the top 6 of their respective nation.

Musty has received a two game suspension for his slew foot in Mississauga. Not sure what he was thinking. We need much more smarter actions on the ice. This is such a selfish mentality that needs to be addressed. Incredibly frustrating.

How many slewfoots have we had as a team over the last few seasons? Has to be a record.

With proper management / coaching this selfish behaviour would not be tolerated .Consistent actions of this nature show how the players are in control and do not respect coaching and management. These players are not intent on making the team successful and are solely concerned with personal goals and settling on ice vendettas .Until there is a total cultural change brought on by a complete overhaul of coaching and management, then Wolves hockey fans will be watching a repeating Groundhog Day movie every game.Dario, it's time to face facts that your spendthrift decisions on hiring a coaching and management staff will doom the Wolves and their loyal fanbase to a hamster wheel of yearly futility. We have witnessed the talent and skills of this team on display this year , but what we have not witnessed is a team dedicated to playing as a team.

☝️This. While Goyette and Musty are both great players. They have a lot of maturing to do, regarding playing a complete game, to be able to crack their respective nations WJ lineups. All about putting egos aside when you get to that elite level.

Sorry but Goyette not getting invited to camp, considering Owen f***ing undrafted 19 year old 24 pts in 27 games Allard got invited, is nothing more than a sick joke.

There are not 30 better Canadian junior players than Goyette right now, regardless of what shortcomings you believe he has. Every player still playing CHL hockey has shortcomings that they need to work on.
