Wolves need to be happy with a point playing like that. Hopefully they can figure it out for Friday.

not a pretty game, kudos to comeback to get a point, I was hoping to steal it in OT, we had our chances. Vondras played better, I didn't like the OT goal but guy standing alone untouched scores. Be nice to get some bodies back soon.

Vondras needs to keep it rolling, and prove he can be "the guy" and show consistency. Solid game from him. Schenkel made two beauty glove saves on Dvorsky and Goyette in that OT, both game savers.

Sorry, not negative but a realist. All fans on this board want the players to succeed and the team to have success. But come on, what we watching most games isn’t good team hockey. The style of play is most reminiscent of low level minor hockey. Individual play with no puck support. Most passes are weak off backhand which most often result in turn overs. We don’t shoot the puck often enough but seem to wanna make an extra pass. We are easy to play against and easy to defend on most nights. Sorry against strong teams this style of play won’t cut it. Not negative. Just fix it please. I want this talent to be a Winning TEAM!

I think this is a well-thought-out and realistic post by someone who I think is typically one of the more positive people in this thread.

if you watch OHL, any lead isn't safe, too write off the team when you did a little premature I think. However, I understand your frustration, it wasn't a pretty game, I think maybe the first game this season at home wasn't their best effort, missing a few key guys, SOO missing a few key guys to. Lots of constant whining gets redundant, you do have some good insights from your posts. Be nice to see this team with a regular full line up and consistent goaltending could do. This will be something management will have to keep tabs on and tinker with this roster. Deadline will determine if we are real players for a run.

As an outsider, I think the problem with this team is that people expected it to be a top contender in a weak conference this year. On paper, you have probably the best lineup in the East except for maybe Mississauga and the Petes.

The challenge is that paper never tells the story it is the coaching and team chemistry that tells it. On paper, Ottawa has a so-so team except for defence but still seems to play well AS A TEAM to win games.

That I think is the issue. I went through this in Kingston for many seasons when everyone thought they were a star I was drafted I am going to play in the NHLITIS sets and if the coach can not get rid of it the disease can be fatal.

I believe the reference was to winning organizations rather than big markets. Nobody has won and developed more than the Soo and London recently. Both teams have had multiple players on the junior team almost every year for the better part of 2 decades. Peterborough just won the Championship and North Bay has won a lot lately as well.

The hounds seem more of a get eliminated in round two followed by miss the playoffs type of team of late.
Four conference finals in nine for NB, they win more than SSM of late for sure, Hamilton too, and Ottawa most definitely if regular seasons count as wining.

So what kind of team imposed sanction or penalty should a player get for hurting his team by being suspended twice for2 games within two weeks?

Sudbury still has time to turn it around after the trade deadline depending on what moves they make as they arguably have one of the better draft cupboards going into the deadline to make some solid pickups. Whether or not things actually happen is one thing but at least the team is setup to potentially bring in some big names...would love to see an all Northern Ontario OHL Final ;)

referring to Musty?
A good heart to heart that hurts his feelings a bit emphasizing that he hurts the team when wreckless. Musty drives the wolves bus so to speak, it would be really dumb to leave him in the stands in civies

On a positive note McCallum is having a pretty solid year. He can be used up and down the line up and adjusts well with too players. He looks like a player who could sign a pro contract this season. Pp pk and he’s good on face offs too. He plays with grit and he’s effective when he’s not crossing the line.

Very happy for the boys to get a point out of nothing. I'll chalk it up to being "just one of those days."

It has also become glaringly obvious how important Musty is to this team. This team will go as far as Musty and Goyette will take them.

Yes and no. That’s the problem. They and Dvorsky have the most talent but we need a total team commitment. Every player needs to understand their role and accept their it. Delic, Konyen, DeAngelis,Vondras, McCallum, Pharand, Coughlan, Collins, Anania…they are all very good along with others not mentioned but everyone has to play their part. We can’t ride on the shoulders of two players. IMO

And those players have to hit and make a defensive effort. The make-up of the wolves roster is one that should run teams like Guelph out of the building.

I do apologize for being mostly negative on here as well. But this team is sure frustrating to watch at times. Especially when I know how good they could be. On Positives, Vondras looked better last night! Mccallum has been a smart and valuable OA keep so far this season. Also nice to see Goyette get a snipe last night to boost his confidence. They def didn’t deserve much from last nights effort. Would love to see our coaches help these boys reach their potential. They seem lost behind that bench. And it shows on the ice

The goal tending the Soo got last night is a clear indication of what the Wolves must target at any cost to be a true contender. Yes Vondras played up to his ability but we need stellar goal tending or going all in is a waste of time. We have one missing piece to the puzzle, Paps needs to go out and get it done NOW. It would be foolish to go all in as we stand now. Again Vondras had a good game but goal tending has to be elite not just good.

That's interesting wording for a team that has missed the playoffs of a full season only once in a decade with 4 division titles (and maybe a 5th coming), but I expect nothing less from you. That's not the topic here though, so please don't derail the thread with your deep-seated hatred of a certain team..

The perception from executives is that these teams develop players better and have a better tradition of winning than Sudbury, so they are going to have a bias towards those players. I mean no disrespect to the Wilves organization, but that will be true until they change the narrative.

You’re right, it was not the topic; you changed the narrative of politics or possibly small market affecting team Canada selections to one of delusion comparing SSM to London.
And without fact checking, I believe SSM has twice missed the playoffs and twice eliminated in round two over four seasons.
