That’s a late Birthday Chromiack who isn’t eligible for NHL till 2024. The kid is a Stud and is showing more and more this season with (at times) very limited ice time. Is an A Level prospect that will be top half (IMO, or higher) 1st rounder. Start watching him for his intelligence and positioning; mature beyond his years. Skating power stride needs to improve ( but all kids need to improve), edge work is elite.
Really agree with assessment on Chromiack. His balance has improved so much since he has arrived its easy to believe the rest of his skating won't also improve. Also he is getting much more confidentin his puck handling. I am sure his shot will get better too.
I also like toure but it has taken him until he is 19 to play in the league for a reason. I think it defensive awareness. He tends to leave the zone early and join rushes . I have seen too many highlights where when the puck is going in, he seems to be by the bluelihevorvtrying to get back. Probably he gets some ice as an extra forward. I would take him over Anania. Not really a fan.

Toure just has to learn how to slow the game down in his own end and be laser focused on being on the right side of the puck and not chasing back to net. Stay big and mean and clear crap in front of our net. His elite skating should allow him to join the rush (which never be discouraged) after the puck is safe and exiting or has exited the zone. Right now in our end (DZ) he seems anxious and impatient to play solid D. If that is his first priority, watch out, he will be a dominant force for the Wolves.

I think teams that maybe willing to move players could be the Soo, Guelph, Erie etc from the Western Conference. Could anyone see the Soo look at moving Ivanov? Recently Soo and Guelph have traded with us wonder if we can workout a deal help both teams.
I think Ivanov could be available, but a couple of things complicate matters. First, Charlie Schenkel has been out with a reported broken hand. Not sure he will be back by the trade deadline if that's the case, although it should be close. Second, Ivanov is reportedly really well liked in the dressing room.

It would be great if Ivanov got a shot this year with a team that can make some noise in the playoffs.

I don’t think they will wait till after the cut off date before making a move if any. I would expect some move before Fridays game, only speculation.

Dvorsky is getting pretty good ice time for AIK, he's not coming over. It feels like we should let that, as well as the Hage dream die sadly.

If the Wolves trade Toure, it's the nail in the coffin that Papineau is drunk at the wheel. I'd love to see them move Chromiak back with Holmes, as that pairing was great. Feels like there's a lot of misguided blame placed on the 17-year-old Chromiak for not being able to carry the 20-year-old Dylan Robinson. Robinson is a boat anchor, no matter who he plays with.

Would love to see the wolves move to the following pairings until any deals are made

Holmes(PP2) - Chromiak(PP2)
Anania - Toure
Collins - Mania(PP1)

They've seen a lot of success with all three of those pairings this year. The group is already not the fastest, and when you put Robinson on the blueline instead of Toure, it makes that problem 10x worse.
You would have to think Paps would know now what is going on with Dvorsky now as there is work involved with customs both Canada and USA and conditions on his release.

If he did want to come over after the Christmas break, his agent would talk him out of it. It would make no sense for him to get drafted out the chl to not allow himself an opputunity to play AHL at 19.

Molnar does not see it that way coming over to finish out his draft year with Erie.

I hope I'm wrong, but Molnar is a late 1st-late 2nd prospect who has lots of room to improve his ranking. Dvorsky is a consensus top 10 pick. The chances of Dvorsky being AHL ready at 19 are quite high, Molnar, not so much.

Interesting

North Bay making another big trade getting Zito. I sure hope Papineau has a plan

NB as always been proactive, I really like what they have been doing. Niagara starting to sell, Wolves should look at one of their goalies.

Molnar is ranked a bit lower than Dvorsky, it might help his draft stock coming over. Getting out of the spotlight of a supposed assault charge during a floor ball-hockey game may have expedited things.

Doesn't look like there will be suspension to Larmand, which is a good thing.

Seeing the ridiculous prices that slightly above average players like Zito and Lavoie are going for, I"m kind of find with the Wolves staying out or even selling guys like Holmes, McCalllum, Laramand, Boudreau.

it will be interesting if Wolves go with Krawchuk in tonights game, I think he has earned a start against Barrie.

Ranger has something to prove tonight I’m glad he’s in net. Its time for other guys to chip in and play better defensively.

The more we lose the more pressure paps will have to make a trade. We need to make a trade soon. We need an upgrade in net.
Papineau is not changing anything in net... If anything we deal a D man and and one 19 year old forward. Picks or an 18 year old forward. That's all I see happening.

As for the game good come back to tie it at 2. I like the pressure they are putting up front. However the forwards need to do a better job covering for the D when they pinch. Also we cannot take undisciplined penalties. Toure is lost up front.

Why would the Wolves not call up an affiliate for tonight? DiGiantomasso or someone with the Cubs.
