Assadourian since he came here has never been given consistently good ice time.Watch him closely and you will see a player excellent in puck pursuit and often strips the puck in the offensive zone.He is up there with Goyette and Mania as the best skaters on the team.He has great puck distribution skills and can finish when given the chance.If he is traded he will prosper with proper ice time and the Wolves will regret not utilizing this player to maximize his skillset

Sorry not a fan. I see a player who is hesitant to go into their type areas, one who swoops and reaches and does not know how use leverage to his advantage and does not get the most out of his talent. Use Delic as an example of a player with similar skill and size as a comparison.

Assadourian could easily become another Brett Parnham or Brett Thompson - both of them made the Wolves look extremely foolish for dealing them for so little and so early on. Assadourian is only 17

Assadourian may not fit into the Wolves' future as the forward group is crowded with young players. I haven't seen progression yet since last year but that could be due to his place on the 4th line for most of the season. He had a strong pre-season when he played top 6 minutes. Could be used as a trade chip.

They definitely take the award for the rock bottom crew! Dominant period for the Steelheads….Wolves with three in less than three might have something to do with it.

Just for clarity... what is the rule? As of Jan 9 they can only DRESS 3 OA's? or can only have 3 OA's on the ROSTER?



This guy is not an improvement on Ranger. So hopefully we can carry 4 OA's and the new guy just plays backup from time to time and is an insurance policy in case we make the playoffs and Ranger goes down.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I was told that Ranger did not join the Wolves on the trip this weekend and that he's "gone".

Don't know if that means there's a deal in the works or if the team is simply just releasing him.

No, Zhigalov was not a waiver pick up. He was picked two years ago and again last summer in round 1 of the import draft

I think the guy who has nothing good to say about the Wolves, is the guy we let go for bring in Bowen Jr. Bitterness??? Having said that, the way we are playing today we don’t deserve many positive commentary.

Apparently no one picked him up. I don’t think there’s a way he’s back. It’s not like Papineau can just say ok Joe, the net is yours again. Think the bridge has been burned.
I guess the wolves will point to fatigue but this is definitely not a good game for them. Anania is playing with fire, they’re giving up odd man rushes. Short handed goal, Goyette coughs it up for their second. Need to see something different in the third. Hopefully they can access reserve on the gas tanks. Points are huge today. We still would have games in hand though and I’m not sure I see Missy stringing a bunch of wins together as they adjust to their new lineup.
Anyone have more info on the Musty injury?

That’s exactly who it is. Wolves 3 in 2.5, Missy hasn’t played since Friday, loss is somewhat expected

Now THAT would have made sense. Never thought of it. Either that or the Kingston goalie. Only Papineau would pull something like a lateral OA move like he did with Bulitka. Time will tell.

I can only imagine what Ranger is thinking….least they only allowed 7. Initial impression big, slow, clumsy and deep in the net. I’ll wait for him to show me different and I sure hope he does. I’d be cheering especially hard if I was Papineau. I just don’t think I like this man. How on earth can he justify just throwing Ranger aside for an unproven goalie who can’t even crack the Q. Just kind of like a crapshoot, not fair to Ranger.

I'm only going to comment on how terrible our defence was today. Allowing odd man rushes, puck watching instead of taking the man, pinching in on a one goal game, can't clear the puck quick enough, holding the puck at the line way too long only to lose it. It's a brutal defensive display today.

Forward wise.. one hand on sticks and getting poked check at the offensive blue line. You can't make it any easier for this team to defend.

Mississauga is a very skilled team picking up all this young talent. We would be lucky if we beat them once over the next three years.

P.S. The commentators I'm sure had to change their shorts a few times today because they were gushing themselves on all these new guys.

Team was gassed today, a 2 out of 3 weekend pretty good. Some of the comments on goaltending very premature, 31 shots for first 2 periods kept it 2-1. The third period Wolves were gassed, most goals were high end chances, break aways etc. Gave up 48 shots.

Hope so Cub. Only if Brassard proves to be a considerable upgrade would this make sense and be fair to Ranger. This home stand should tell a tale.
