Alex Pharand
When Pharand finds his game every night it will be scary. He has so much potential he reminds me of Alex Tuch. This is Papineau’s best trade by a mile.

In fact I'd give him a letter. He's likeable, well spoken and respected. When Pharand finds his game every night it will be scary. He has so much potential he reminds me of Alex Tuch. This is Papineau’s best trade by a mile.
Down to 3 by the 9th. Can only dress three for any game during the seasonJust for clarity... what is the rule? As of Jan 9 they can only DRESS 3 OA's? or can only have 3 OA's on the ROSTER?
This guy is not an improvement on Ranger. So hopefully we can carry 4 OA's and the new guy just plays backup from time to time and is an insurance policy in case we make the playoffs and Ranger goes down.
Yeah I agree with this, he would have been my vote for the C at the start of the season and still now!In fact I'd give him a letter. He's likeable, well spoken and respected.

I think that if we can move McCallem or Larmand or both, and give Assordorian more ice time, I really think he has a lot more to give to this team. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve liked his game from the start and I think his potential is still high, IMO.Goyette and Musty in top 10 scoring. Goyette 5th and Musty 9th and moving up, this has been awhile for the Wolves.
With regards to the Trade Deadline, I think Sudbury is in a neutral position, I don't see much happening at the trade deadline, unless getting some good assets and picks for some vets like McCallum, Larmand and Anania. I feel Assordorian could be trade bait too.

They can only dress and roster 3 after noon January 10th. The trade deadline for OA's is noon January 9th. The 24 hour difference is to give "cut" OA's the full day to try and sign with another OHL team or pass waivers to go east or west.Just for clarity... what is the rule? Give this goalie a chance, funny how everyone can judge a goalie on one game. Ranger won't be back.
I personally don't see Assadourian being a factor here next year or the year after. He won't crack the top 6 for this team. Just isn't tenacious enough and a deer in the headlights still. In my view he's a moveable piece now to help the team this year and next. He is not a third line player as those need to be energy type guys with size and play a tight defensive role. Play a checking role. Yes he may have some untapped skill but Sudbury isn't suited for him. Would have had Derbidge play a head of him this year but the boat has sailed on. If they can find him a new home this year and make a package deal of some kind that really doesn't hinder our draft capital then our management should really explore it.Yeah I agree with this, he would have been my vote for the C at the start of the season and still now!

He is not an upgrade. The guys passed through the Q. This is a lateral move At Best. The only way they made this move is if they already found a suitor for Ranger and have confidence that Krawchuk can handle an increased workload imo. Ranger out and Brassard in does not make this team any better.
I agree with this. Ranger may end up somewhere else where his workload will be in relief and help in the leadership role of a team making a run. However if this is the case I would have liked Sudbury to keep the OA spot open and bring in another overage player on defence or forward to help this team in the playoffs. Heck I would rather them sign Morrow or the kid they bring up from Espo Marois he is only 19. Who really cares at this point. Let Krawchuk get the lions share. He is not an upgrade. Rumour has it Morrow turned paps down at camp and again at xmas break. Espo goalie wouldn't be string enough to support krawchuck. Should've just kept Ranger and go 50/50 til one went on a run. Paps is known for bad goalie decision and Ranger was another. Should've had Morrow back up weeks and ready for this year.I agree with this. Zhigalov was also a waiver pick up from the Q and went to Kingston. You might remember him: We peppered over 50 shots on him in our barn and lost!! Waiver. Pick-ups can be good. Let’s see what we got here before we get our underwear in a knot…Give this goalie a chance, funny how everyone can judge a goalie on one game. Ranger won't be back.
Now you don't want Krawchuk to get the time. Confused???Zhigalov was also a waiver pick up from the Q and went to Kingston. You might remember him: We peppered over 50 shots on him in our barn and lost!! Waiver. Pick-ups can be good. Let’s see what we got here before we get our underwear in a knot…
Yes I do want Krawchuk to be the man and step up, just defending the new OA goalie and the the negative beliefs about waiver claims. Not saying this will work out like Zhigalov but give it a chance. I’d like to see Krawchuk ho on a run here. 75/25 split Nate…Now you don't want Krawchuk to get the time. Confused???

No, Zhigalov was not a waiver pick up. He was picked two years ago and again last summer in round 1 of the import draftZhigalov was also a waiver pick up from the Q and went to Kingston. Assadourian has never been given good ice time here. He has definitely skills and outside of Goyette and possibly Mania is the fastest skater on the team.Watch him closely and you will see a player who is excellent in puck pursuit and has great hands in distributing the puck.If he was given top 6 minutes he would be a point producer. If the Wolves trade him to a team that will give him increased ice time, they will regret it as he will prosper .
