Sudbury Wolves 2022-23 Season Thread (Part 2)

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Any prediction on what part of the team Papineau looks to strengthen in the coming days? The D or O or both?
 


Brassard getting the start! Talk about a big game for Brassard to kick things off

Hello Wolves fans, I’m at the game. Ranger is not in the lineup.

I think Brassard is going to start.

So bizarre to see this. I hope Ranger finds a team. I have second hand embarrassment for him especially since the kid has family here in town. What was a nice story has really turned. But knowing the character the guy has he probably took it like a true professional.

Cant blame the new tender on those 2 goals. Wolves needs to tighten up. Collins- regression. Very little improvement this season.

I mean look at Brassard's stats, not overly impressive. You just hope he'll be an upgrade on Ranger, or what's the point? Ranger still showing on the roster really makes me wonder what's going on. Could the Wolves find a team to trade Ranger to for cheap? Maybe Sarnia as back up insurance as they got DelMastro and could maybe part with Dillingham but doesn't seem likely. Not many teams could take on Ranger but maybe Papineau has something up his sleeve. Just feels odd right now the goalie situation. All signs point to Ranger being released but he's still showing on the roster. So Papineau might be looking at different options as to who the final 3 OA's will be. Maybe Papineau surprises us all and trades for a goalie like Leaver who would be a top end OA goalie next season for the Wolves. Anyways we need for next season at some point a top end goalie, a stud defender, a high end Import (Dvorsky is a pipe dream), another top end scorer. All that to have any shot at contending next season. Good luck Papineau!

Even though Sudbury is up 6-3 after two the passing and breakout is really bad tonight. Passes in skates or behind the player. Some guys are making blind passes or standing around and watching the play....stopped moving their feet. Not able to establish the cycle.

As for our Goalie I'm not sold that this is an upgrade. Not sure what the plan is but I guess we will see. I want to see Sudbury get a solid 18 year old Dman.

Not sure what is going on with our PK but last night it wasn't great and tonight its been bad as well other than the two shorties we got.
