Sudbury Wolves 2022-23 Season Thread (Part 2)

Take it with a grain of salt, but I was told that Ranger did not join the Wolves on the trip this weekend and that he's "gone".

Don't know if that means there's a deal in the works or if the team is simply just releasing him.

I hope he does not stray to far from home Brassard looks really out of shape struggles to even stand up. I hate to make judgement this early so come on son, prove me wrong please.

Is this team physical condition good enough for 3 games in 3 ? Don’t think so. Tough week-end with travelling.

Hope so Cub. Only if Brassard proves to be a considerable upgrade would this make sense and be fair to Ranger. This home stand should tell a tale.


There were some long shots...defence can’t always prevent those.

yes I thought third goal should have had. First two goals were a 2 on 1, second goal was a 2 on 0. 4th goal was a blast top corner. I can't remember the 5th I think it was a break away five hole. and 7th goal break away back hand. If our goaltending situation was good in the first place wouldn't be looking at another goalie.

I'm only going to comment on how terrible our defence was today. Allowing odd man rushes, puck watching instead of taking the man, pinching in on a one goal game, can't clear the puck quick enough, holding the puck at the line way too long only to lose it. It's a brutal defensive display today.

Forward wise.. one hand on sticks and getting poked check at the offensive blue line. You can't make it any easier for this team to defend.

Mississauga is a very skilled team picking up all this young talent. We would be lucky if we beat them once over the next three years.

P.S. The commentators I'm sure had to change their shorts a few times today because they were gushing themselves on all these new guys.

Team was gassed today, a 2 out of 3 weekend pretty good. Some of the comments on goaltending very premature, 31 shots for first 2 periods kept it 2-1. The third period Wolves were gassed, most goals were high end chances, break aways etc. Gave up 48 shots.

Don't you think this should have been a game that Krawchuk took. Brassard travels from the Q plays the same day he arrives without every practicing with the team and getting to know his surroundings. Ok plays in Hamilton. Then they play him again in a quick turnaround on the road. Krawchuk I feel got cheated after stealing the game vs North Bay he sees nothing.

Different league, different pick value; probably relative to MacTavish & Xhekaj last year and that team recoups most of what was spent next year just like Hamilton was able to replace more than they had spent this deadline

The difference is that Kamloops is hosting the mem cup. I don't follow enough WHL to know what regualr deals look like. We're the only league that doesn't allow first round choices to be traded.
