Third goalie likely Gaulten cleared only to skate. I remember when I played goalies are cleared in stages to practice. Probably not allowed any vertical or lateral movement yet. But good news for the young kid that he’s working toward return.

Ultimately we need quality 04s to finish off the second half or obtain prior to the 23 Draft. For the teams who still need to add key pieces to go for it (ie: Petes, Kitchener, London, NB) is there a fit now or do we wait?? Thoughts?? If Pete’s want Wright we may the picks to make it happen for the right 04..

Exactly but that '04 needs to be an impact player. Can't be a guy that won't be ready to be an impact player. If McCallum is wanted by London which I can very well see why. London has very few right handed forwards that can play the right side and take draws not to mention be a thorn in the side come playoffs. McGurn and the newly acquired Winterton are the only other right handed guys with the exception of Paris but has not seen much ice time. I would do a deal for Paris '05 and George '04. Wolves give up McCallum 03' and Anania '03. George being the corner stone of the deal and they keep all the picks in the Holmes deal. Use them next year to add to the many returning players for a run. If they are able to get Dvorsky to report next year then the Wolves would be a shoe in to win the East as long as they find a goalie.

I would think, in fairness to the Wolves Org. Dvorsky will need to decide soon if he comes now or waits till next year. Knowing before the deadline would help fill our vacant import spot should a valuable piece come available. It would be sweet to see him in the middle of Musty and Goyette.

Moving McCullum I believe should not be in the cards. Very instrumental in making the playoffs this year and a nucleus as an overage next year. If rumours are indeed true and London is showing interest, that should be an indicator of his real value.

But that is when you maximize on deals as well. Double edge sword. If it’s too good to pass up we do it. Just as in the case of the deal yesterday.

We don't have a lot of forward depth to make the playoffs. This changes if Dvorsky shows up, but even then we should focus elsewhere.

I really believe the only way he comes here is to be moved to a contender or he goes back to Finland and considers his options next year.

You could be right. the next two seasons the Wolves should have contending status. It would be nice to have some closure…one way or another.

In the Swedish 2ND league he has 8 point and is a -11. He would be coming to Sudbury to prevent from dropping back in the draft rankings.
Hope your right but don’t you think that would have been announced already? They are out of the tourney.

Calm before the storm? Or do we think the wolves are done with moves?
I believe a 19 year old forward will be dealt. Possibly we add an import. At this point we need to accumulate more pics for next years deadline. At this point we look good for picks but how things are moving this year we will need at least 6-7 extra seconds and 4 extra 3rds and 4ths to have some buying power next year. We’re getting close.

That wouldnt make sense for either team lol

Similar to Sale, it would be dumb for him to come to the CHL prior to getting draft because hat would mean he cant play in the AHL until hes 20

Not necessarily. Sometimes import players are loaned to CHL teams, so their rights still belong to their pro team back home. When they are drafted into the NHL, they are listed as being drafted out of their league back home so their hands are not tied by the NHL/CHL agreement. Rasmus Sandin is an example of this.

but the ohl team still has to draft their import from their pro team? wow

2003's Larmand, Anania, McCallum, Toure should all garner some interest. I don't think the Wolves will move McCallum or Toure. Both are pretty important to this team right now, and both of them would be pretty solid OA options for next season. Now in saying that, if some team comes along desperate enough and wants to overpay, the Wolves really need to give it some serious thought. I'm expecting the Wolves to deal Larmand for some picks and a throw in depth forward type to fill out the roster. Also wouldn't be surprised to see Anania dealt for a decent package (maybe something like an 04 LD and a pick). Is Holmes really that much better than Anania? Anania would be a really strong No.5 option on a contending team, and can slide into a top-4 role when needed. Also a good OA Dman option for next season, so Anania should have pretty good value. It's no secret Wolves need to make the playoffs. Paps knows this, and Dario won't accept anything less. I get the feeling Wolves might make a slight buy move, but hopefully it's done smartly. We can't afford to be giving away picks. The window to buy heavy is next season. Depending on cost maybe they look to upgrade on Ranger.

Ranger can’t be our number 1 goalie after the deadline. He just doesn’t track pucks and gives bad goals over and over. Move Larmand Anania Assadourian and Konyen. I’d like to see who could take the bait and overpay for Konyen. Hopefuly we can lock an elite 04 like Beck and/or Donovan for next two years. Is there also a good 04 goalie available ?

Just a side note. Anyone know what's going on with Derbridge?

Shows that he was released from Stouffville of the OJHL. No word where he's heading.
