I remember you saying he managed from his couch down south in his pajamas LOL. What a weird setup that was. Only in Sudbury it seems.Barclay Branch all time worst GM of the Wolves.
Just like our Chief Financial Officer headquartered in AlbertaI remember you saying he managed from his couch down south in his pajamas LOL. What a weird setup that was. Only in Sudbury it seems.

Let's hope teams like Oshawa and Mississauga deal most of their vets and allow Sudbury to leap them with the current roster. We can't lose whatever picks we have for next season imo. My thought is maybe dealing Assadourian, Morrow, Derbidge for whatever picks we can. That way we don't go into next season with too many bodies. We must build contending team next year with the key pieces starting next season as,Our terrible GM got a Kings Ransom on the Stillman trade, that other OHL teams now use as a comparison base. So I guess that was a good, maybe great trade! This team/management will be measured after the deadline and in the playoffs ( they will make it). You heard it here first..
And he was in over his headBlaine Smith didn’t have any hockey credentials just saying.

He didn't care he made his living because the owner paid him well and still pays him well today. Not too shabby. Kinda like Zulich is doing now with Papineau right? And he was in over his head

FORWARDS
-Goyette
-Musty
-Delic
-Villenueve
-Walton
-Konyen
-Pharand
-Dvorsky???
-DiGiantomasso
DEFENCE
-Collins
-Mania
-Chromiak
-Protz
-Bruce
-Bishop
GOALIE
Krawchuk
Then we add in our 1st rounder which may be used to deal off at the deadline for a high end player.
We hope and pray Dvorsky is part of the plan next year.
And we add three quality overage players this group. it's obvious a piece or two will need to be moved on defence to add a couple of vets there and we probably need another OA goalie next year.
Question is do the Wolves bring any of our 19 year old players back as potential OA's.
Holmes- meh
Larmand- meh
Toure- unsure
McCallum- maybe
Boudreau- no
Over the past 1.5/2months McCallum has showed me enough to strongly consider as an OA next year. His hands, creativity and fearless tartness is rare. You love them on your team but everyone else wants to get him. Having said that, I can’t help to think he would be a perfect fit as 3C on Pete’s for their big push this year. Also, the following year he could play with his younger bro…we could package another depth 19yr old D and look at a return of McCoy or Lardis…I do like his game now. He would help us next year if he stays…
Hope so. Still wouldn‘t make up for another lousy first half and if they do make it it will likely be because other teams sold off which isn’t saying much. I’d be interested to hear what you propose Papineau will do. He’s in a precarious position not to screw up next season. Our terrible GM got a Kings Ransom on the Stillman trade, that other OHL teams now use as a comparison base. Whether Blaine Smith cared about his own credentials is completely irrelevant and examples of the sort do nothing to answer my question. Still waiting to hear exactly what his credentials actually are. Does anyone even know.He didn't care he made his living because the owner paid him well and still pays him well today. Not too shabby. Kinda like Zulich is doing now with Papineau right?
But must admit didn't Papineau scout and play the game to a certain level. We can't say he doesn't have any hockey credentials. In fact we can look across the league and say the same about many GM's and even in the NHL. A lot of players and women hockey players are getting in front office positions including Asst GM duties. The point is Papineau is just another one that will come and go like every hockey executive in sports. And he will probably find another job pretty quick in the hockey world.
Ken MacKenzie was a mailman does that mean he can't coach or be a GM. He has been for decades. Let's just see what Papineau does in the next week or two. It should give us an indication what next year's plan is I hope!

I would hope he is working to bring Devorsky over after WJC, or perhaps once drafted into NHL work with that team to convince both player/NHL team and agent that Sudbury Wolves is the preferred place to develop along side our highly skilled core. Secondly, find new homes for those who don’t wish to be here and focus on trading for a proven goalie, preferably an 04. Work on the forward depth, first get Derbidge back for bottom 6 roll. Take advantage of teams that have committed to going for it this year by providing depth options for younger talent or picks. Next, stock draft capital and use it to trade for pieces prior to next draft.Hope so. That's quite a iist for ....I would hope he is working to bring Devorsky over after WJC, or perhaps once drafted into NHL work with that team to convince both player/NHL team and agent that Sudbury Wolves is the preferred place to develop along side our highly skilled core. Lastly, give DM a chance to work with players and other coaches. From what I know and heard about the MacKenzies: you will never out work them. To move your family from Florida to Sudbury is a commitment few would make, specially when you last coaches in the NHL.
Just a few thoughts….
Cheers. I didn’t expect that comprehensive an answer. One thing I didn’t expect though was the notion that some players may not want to be here. Is that known for a fact? I’m almost scared to ask but did he get the 5 games and is McKenzie still suspended? In the case of Villeneuve, another example of how the woofers have repeatedly shot themselves in the foot this season. Totally undisciplined and unecessary.Well I guess That Villeneuve will be watching from stands this evening with is coach
Thanks Pops didn’t think to check, glad your’e on the pinEach received 2 games according to the OHL website's Media Notes
Lots of parking on the side streets in NBThanks Pops didn’t think to check, glad your’e on the pinIf it wasn’t so far (yes it seems far to me on that two lane highway that is 17 West) and I didn’t have to leave in the morning I’d almost be tempted to catch the game in the Soo tomorrow afternoon. Really like that building and you can still park on the street instead of being stuck in a parking lot a la North Bay. Last time I was there I parked up the road just like I do here. When the game is over jump in your car and gone, next thing your on the highway. Pretty sure Il have to buy this one as I don’t think it’s on the pack. Be sure to provide us with your thoughts.
I don’t know this to be true but based my assumption on TOI for some players. Likewise, perhaps management doesn’t see a good fit with some players. Not every player on every team have happy and content players so my comment was purely an assumption.Cheers. I didn’t expect that comprehensive an answer. One thing I didn’t expect though was the notion that some players may not want to be here. Is that known for a fact? Thanks.
