Sudbury Wolves 2022-23 Season Thread (Part 2)

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Exactly!!! And if they were reviewing the head check why didn't they review the one on Konyen earlier. They were quick to call Larmand on a major when that hit was identical. This is an absolute embarrassment. Two refs look at the iPad and decide to kick out one of the top prospects in the league on a bogus call.... this league needs to get these officials straight. Throw those iPads in the garbage because its doing crap...Pathetic... Don't blame Derek Mac getting tossed disputing the call. All the technology in this league than they ever had and they still get it wrong. It's inexcusable.

They have absolutely lost it. Even the linesman in on the act. Wolves already short handed and the linesman literally goes out of his way to manhandle McCallum, making it 5 on 3 in the scrum.

I know I saw him prior with Delic and someone else and knocked Delic arm down hard, the linesman can hurt someone he's a clown.

I said this at the beginning of the season. The chemistry was always there. If the Wolves acquire one more top six player this team would have the one two punch required. Add one solid piece on defence like Hache and let it ride. We need more speed on the left side of the defence.

Toure was on defence in the first period and then put up front the rest of the game. Never saw Robinson until the second period. Some weird stuff happening there on the defence. When Larmand comes back who sits..

When you have a rested Ranger you get a different player I noticed.

Nice to see Goyette taking a hit to create a scoring chance for Delic. Not too many would do that.

I try not to rag on the refs because it sometimes becomes a big whine session. That call certainly looked weak. I also say looking at the game sheet it looked like it may have been over offciated

did you notice Holmes didn't play any PK in the 3rd. it was Toure, Anania, and Collins, Robinson. They did a great job in the third kill all these penalties.

Nice to see the boys get a big win, nice to see AA get a goal after going hard to the net, nice to see Walton back, nice to see special teams clicking and trending in the right direction, nice to see DZ coverage way better boxing out and protecting the house….just nice to watch kids play hockey. I forgot the nicest thing of tonight’s game was Dellie’s 4 goals on line one…

he scored four goals tonight ? OMG some of you are crazy lol He starting to figure it out late December and breaks out playing with who else Goyette and Musty. I agree though he’s our best option without a trade. Very good game tonight ! He had 3 goals before tonight.

Funny that’s seems to be the second phantom slew foot call and I think by the same ref….. really proud of the boys tonight. I’m really happy for Ranger for a solid game. The generals were no match for the Wolves, even though they seem to play the whole game in the box. Wonder what the score might have been…This game was an embarrassment to the OHL as far as officiating. I hope we weren’t seeing a ”let’s stick together and not make anyone look bad ” scenario but how could they look at that again and still call a slew foot? That call could have cost the Wolves the game and possibly a playoff position. In this age of “let’s get the call right” and endless review, this call first being made and second upheld is again an embarrassment to the OHL. Glad there were so many watching The game needs to be reviewed and the official involved needs to be educated as to what a slew foot actually is.

Okay the good stuff. If any of you read this, awesome job Woofers you made yourselves and us proud by playing hell of a game against a boatload of adversity to boot. Enjoy your holidays and let’s show the league who we really are in the second half. Ah yes goes back to the 90’s and Lindros for me. To beat the Gennies AND the refs. Nice Christmas present.

Absolutely, how often do you see a coach so enraged that he gets ejected? Just goes to show what an absolute travesty the call was. Like yeah, go ahead throw one of my two best players out of a potentially must win game for a phantom call. I almost blew a gasket watching. Karma tonight though for once.

Ya man but you could sense the potential big time. I certainly hadn’t given up on him.

Got to give McKenzie his due. Good bench management and the team was well prepared, playing for each other and hungry…..like the wolf :cool:
