Totally!

I see like this.

Trade Collins
Anania Mania
Walton Toure
Jackson Chromiak
Bruce
Cleveland if he reports would change lots in the top 6.

No room for Protz, Hayes, Seguin, Connors and maybe even Bruce.

A package deal has to be in the works. Some of these kids need to play in the O this year.

WJ
Having Chromiak as the 7 when he could end the year as an A prospect would be asinine for recruiting imports in the future, as well as just detrimental to the team. He should be in the top four, not the press box.

I really believe we need to get more experience on the left side. Anania is a great shot blocker and should slot in the second pairing. We need a true first line left shooting dman with some experience. Someone mentioned the lad out of Pete’s. That would be a good fit here. Thing is Sudbury needs to deal at least three dmen and two of them being on the right side. Bishop being one, and most likely Protz. Than Chromiak or Toure. Nobody is going to play 7th or 8th slot that was on the roster last year.

Just my opinion.

WJ
Never Protz. He is cerebral, calm and controlling. Future star here that we can’t give up IMO.

You tell me what we are doing then. Staying young or being older for a run. Have to give up something to get something.

Who knows!

Someone has to go or sit. Walton twin won’t.

Don’t disagree that bodies will need to move from right side and we need to give up talent to get talent but I feel now that we have a 3-4 year hierarchy of goal
tenders we can be selective with who leaves and who stays. Remember, we have a decent amount of draft capital that may grow with future trades. I’ve come to the realization we will have to give up some amazing talent but I believe we can be selective.

Being a twin doesn’t guarantee him a spot on this strong roster. Not taking anything away from young Walton but he will have to come in and earn it..I’d hate to see it but both Waltons could be dealt. Anything is possible.

You can be both good and young

I don’t think there’s a big move until the TDL. Theyll let everyone battle it out first.

That won’t work. Age is a factor in a long run. The Pete’s were proof of that. Management knows they have a good problem on their hands and will be hard to let go of some young talent but it is necessary this year.

Protz would be a throw-in in a deal for a top player approaching the deadline. The top 19 yr old D will cost the wolves Mania or twins or Chromiak, maybe Taylor in addition to picks. That or something like the 9 (2-4) picks the ‘67s parted with to acquire Mintyukov.

Maybe try to find a home for some OAs
By the looks of it the league will have a surplus of OA’s this year. Some players won’t have homes come October. In the case of Sudbury I hope they find a couple homes or maybe the players will announce soon that they will play OUA.

Who is the Left D Mintyulov you want to trade for? Who is the best LD out there?

Brady Cleveland is a LD

With this depth on the right side I could see Toure as a possible trade chip…to upgrade our OA forwards (Martin/Giroux) or Sova

If there will be a LD like DelMastro available this season, it won’t be until mid-season, and it would cost a lot.
I think the wolves biggest need is a true first pairing. If available at the start of the season, Punnet or Mayer would be good all-purpose first pairing LD. If possible, I’d replace Anania or (McCallum) and (Toure) with Mayer or Hache and Punnet. I would be happy with 3-OA D. Punnet plays both sides well.

For me: Mayer#1, Punnet#2 and we keep Anania…both will cost a ton but Pete’s will be more willing to move for picks(they have none) and Barrie (if willing to trade to a rival) want prospects as they have a healthy draft pick cupboard. IMO. Both of these LD are difference makers.

Toure off to his second dev camp, this time in Florida. NHL teams can see his value, I assume the wolves do as well and won't move on from him.
There is value in the tools, and not a lot of risk in a long-term project. But Toure is not a 1st pairing or a player I’d like to see playing over Mania and Collins.

It is for those reasons I could see him as a trade chip….a team in the west. If Brady Cleveland commits I can see him replacing Toure’s tools. RD out LD in and hopefully bring back some forum of value in a trade. Cleveland is older and I would guess a bit more polished due to playing within the USDL.

Actually Barrie needs picks for excess OAs more than anything as they are absolutely loaded with 2006 born and no room for ok 2004-05 born. Williamson gave up 3-2nds, 2-3rds, 2-4ths, 6th for two ‘06 born forwards in June.
If offering Mania though, Barrie probably parts with any 2003-04 born you want.

Possibly the ideal 3rd pairing LD, though I can’t say since I’ve never seen a shift played by Cleveland.

From what the Draft analysis was Cleveland is not the best skater.Offensively he is not great. He will be a tough hard hitting D.I think he is committed to the U.S college route

What are the chances Hage atleast shows up to training camp in the fall?
Nothing close on him. In fact it’s actually been a forgotten prospect similar to when picked Red Savage. If Kitchener wasn’t getting him to report we won’t that’s a given!
