He has decent size for his age and as others have commented his skating is good. He's never going to be confused with a stay at home defenseman but if he can refine his offensive instincts and coaches pair him with a suitable partner he could develop into a nice offensive option.

I think #63 is too high for him though personally.

He may be there at #127 but if I were you I would be hoping FLA find a way to move into the 3rd round as I think that's probably where he goes.
I recognize he is young and I love his game outside the D zone, but he has to get stronger and more confident. Too many times he decided to follow the opposition into the DZ corner when he could have been there first. Further, lost too many puck battles on the DZ walls and got beat back to his own net. If he comes in this season bigger and learns the DZ you will have an NHL prospect. Pro level skating and stick handling/passing and sees the ice very well. Scored some highlight timely goals this past season. A young Montour perhaps.

A very strong assessment WOAW.

He definitely needs to hit the weight room, he uses his stick well to break up plays - but as you said, when the game gets physical or strong he's overmatched or shies away fairly often. Still I see his offensive upside outweighing his defensive negatives. Hopefully he comes back this season with a little more bulk and a little more bite to his game.

I'll throw my hat into the ring

Musty - Seattle at 20th - Long shot Buffalo trades down from 13 and takes him.
Dvorsky - Detroit at 9th
Mania - 3rd round
Pharand - Undrafted
Delic & Toure - Rookie camp invites
Another long-shot prediction, Toure gets a contract out of either rookie camp or an NHL training camp invite. He then returns to Sudbury to lead us to the promise land.

You, sir, know what you're talking about. I agree with everything you've stated above.

I'm also in agreement with you that Toure will be a hot commodity. I would love Pharand to get drafted, but think the odds are 50/50 right now. Whereas early in the year, I would have said that Pharand would be drafted in the first 3 rounds.

I see:

Musty going as early as 12 to Arizona, 13 Buffalo, 16 Calgary or as low as 20 Seattle.

Dvorsky in the 6-10 range (Detroit or Washington make the most sense in that range)

Mania top half 3rd Rd- Arizona again to fill the offensive d spots they given up over the past couple seasons

Pharand will fall a bit but still goes 5th round...too much potential and character for teams to keep passing on.

Delic- gets passed on again unfortunately due to his size

Toure- A team like Montreal or Chicago will give him a try in the 6th OR 7th RD

That’s unfortunate

Dvorsky also just signed a two year deal in Sweden

Tough break for sure. Exciting news for Derek. Wolves played well under Ken for his short stint as head coach, so hopefully that continues.

Dvorsky was never coming. Always was a pipe dream with some of our fans on here. The Wolves really need to capitalize on their upcoming Import pick.

He was never coming for sure. Folks have him play on that line, or on this line. Never understood it.

Papineau needs to stop going for homeruns and just try to get on base.

Should be an interesting few months to see what impact Ken has on this team. Filling a temp knowing someone else is coming in, quite different than full-time duties. Also added pressure to win this season. Not sure how I feel about this. In this moment, would have preferred to go get someone long-term. If Ken fails , he won't get fired but, decides to go back upstairs.

How does this move impact making moves now for Papineau? This is the year to assemble a lethal line up. We’re not starting out great. The house is a bit of a mess I guess with this move. Now with Dvorsky signing in Sweden it will be critical that Papineau find some success via trade or an older import at the draft. One who will commit to playing in North America!

A Fan should always be allowed to Dream and hope. Very rarely the dreams come true,ie: UPL. Oh well, I liked the swing for the fence last year when looking at where the team’s development was when he was selected. Now gotta make it count on Import draft. Rough day.

Not a good idea to hang ones hat on the euro draft. If he can't get a solid B player to come over , look within the league to upgrade. Not every team has euro players and or who have impact players in their lineup

It’s a move that will retain picks by drafting one. But he can’t bring in a project import. Not this year anyway!

To add, I'm curious to see if Ken will get the same respect like Derek recieved. For example, accountability, selfish play( taking poor penalties) buying into the system.

Could we just start with getting a top goaltender ASAP. Papineau needs to show the Wolves are for real this year and it starts in net.

A strong line up would look like this

Musty-Goyette-Hayes or Poitras
Martin-Villeneuve-McCallum
Taylor-Delic-Pharand
Yearwood-Melee-Coughlan

Donovan-Collins
Anania-Mania
Chromiak-Toure
Bishop

Euro Goalie
Gaulton or Krawchuk

Trade or release

Larmand, Boudreau,Konyen, 2 Waltons, Protz, Gaulton or Krawchuk

He petter pick a tender very carefully. We know what happened last season. McCallum wouldn't for me be higher in the lineup than Delic. Bishop I think won't be in the team. Konyen I'd move. KW I don't see being moved.

What about Brian’s and Cleveland from US? Another Dream?

Speaking of dreaming, you will never pry Poitras or Donovan away. Might instead focus on McCoy and Simpson. Gotta take advantage of teams who badly need to re-stock their draft cupboard.

What a joke! Gave the keys to the team first to Stillman, who’s kid wanted nothing to do with Sudbury. Then he brings in DMac who had no intention of staying. Anyone believing else wise also thought we were getting a new rink
Now he names KMac coach! Brutal
Next week Joe Drago ass’t gm!
