I don't think the Wolves should be in a rush to pick anyone up until they see what they have in training camp.

With that said McCoy and Konnor Smith are the only two players on the roster I'd be looking to try to get.

The Petes will likely not be trading either Donovan McCoy or Konner Smith until closer to the trade deadline. Their value will higher then and they will have better idea of which to players they want in return for them.

So I had a bit of time on my hands and was inspired by another user (@Section5Petes) and their post in the Petes section of the boards (Peterborough Petes 2022-23 Season Thread (Part 4)) I've attempted to do the same with the Wolves roster for the upcoming season.

In an attempt at uniformity, I tried to structure it the same way S5P did. Here's how they structured it:

"This depth chart is organized on a few different levels with the first being age. While constructing this depth chart, I considered sorting it simply by birth year, but I instead elected to order this list by virtue of a game being played hence why someone like an '06 Braydon McCallum would be ahead of older '05 centres like Faulkner, Brett and Shier. This is not too prevalent with this Petes team heading into next season, however I wanted to clarify this point as this is simply a depth chart that does NOT focus on potential, points or ideal line combinations but rather provides a more tangible look into player ages.

This list also includes NHL drafted, but unsigned players such as C Tucker Robertson, who still could sign with the Seattle Kraken until June 1st, 2024, and at this moment would be considered to be returning for an OA season. RW Connor Lockhart is now an NHL free agent as the Vancouver Canucks did not sign him by the June 1st, 2023 deadline and at this moment would also be considered to return as an OA.

The chart separates each players age range by colour and they are as follows:
- 2003 born players are categorized by a 'red' marking and are 2023-2034 Overagers.
- 2004 born players are categorized by a 'yellow' marking.
- 2005 born players are categorized by a 'green' marking.
- 2006 born players are categorized by a 'blue' marking.

- 2007 born players are categorized by a 'purple' marking."

------------------------------

The first thing you will notice is that I didn't take the time to sort the D by LD/RD. If anyone wants to DM me or leave me the splits on that feel free and I will adjust it.

I'm sure I've made some mistakes along the way, this is my first attempt at trying something like this, please be kind and if there are any errors please point them out to me so I can fix and repost. This document will be fluid and take on a life of its own, it belongs to the board so any changes you want to see made, don't hesitate to suggest things!

Lastly, a big thanks to @Wolf on a Wire for being a second set of eyes on my work. Without their assistance there would've been even more mistakes.

Enjoy

Dvorsky to St Louis with the 10th overall pick. Just his presence walking to the podium he looks like a solid player and person. Too bad he signed in Sweden.

Happy to see Musty go off the board in the first as expected. Fully expect we'll see Mania off the board tomorrow, really hoping to see some of Pharand, Toure and Delic as well.

Could mean an OA year in Sudbury, in order to align with SJ’s rebuild…
That will never happen. Any first-round pick is going to be in the AHL at 20 not the OHL. If they're in the OHL it's because things have gone horribly wrong and they probably will not even be signed.

If Papineau has any worth left, he should already be on the phone to Detroit and Brady's advisors telling them how the OHL is a much better path for a player of Brady Cleveland's skillset.

Pharand to Chicago 4th round!
Funny to see with Pharand. He was a 1st round OHL pick, traded for McTavish and then Stillman, invited to Top Prospects game, the U18s, and then the NHL combine, now drafted early 4th to the Hawks but just cant seem to put it together so far in Sudbury.

Scouts obviously like the skillset and toolbox. Hoping he breaks out this year in Sudbury.
